Its been a while since I've had any chrome plating done but now I'm looking for a good place in the Great Lakes area. Someone suggested B and R Custom Chrome. Does anyone know these guys?

Rodder's Roundtable / 1955 1st generation GMC truck guages
May 18, 2015, 11:47:39 AM
A friend of mine is building a 55 1st generation GMC truck and is looking for gauges. He wants a gauge set that looks close to original and electric. Any ideas who might have something.

Rodder's Roundtable / Mechanical temp gauge problem
October 28, 2013, 01:56:08 PM
So I did something I have never done before. I bought a set of cheap mechanical gauges for my 327. The temperature gauge works just fine when cruising around town but when I hit the highway the gauge jumps to 225 and then down to 210 (when the thermostat opens) even though the engine is actually about 185 when checked with a heat gun. I don't think their is any fix short of replacing it with quality gauge but I wonder if anyone else has experienced this?

Rodder's Roundtable / Powerglide cold shifting issue
September 14, 2013, 05:26:22 PM
Well guys the fluid and filter were fine. I added a quart of Lucas trans fix and put an adjustable vacuum modulator in. I'm not sure where the modulator was set at but it really shifts better now. When its cold it still shifts slower but not nearly as much. I think the Lucas stuff worked its magic.

Rodder's Roundtable / Powerglide cold shifting issue
September 02, 2013, 05:50:12 PM
I just picked up a car with a 327 and a power glide trans. I've noticed that the trans up shifts quite a bit later when the car first starts up in the morning. After it warms up it shifts where you would expect it to. The car wasn't driven much during the last six years and now I'm driving it every day. I'm told the seals may have hardened and it will only get worse. What do you guys think.

I have a LAD 6. I saw those directions but the grounds to the relays will still not get a ground to the motor in the linear actuator.

Rodder's Roundtable / How to ground a AutoLoc linear actuator
July 03, 2013, 11:00:24 AM
I bought a new Auto Loc unit from Summit to replace one that failed. The old one grounded through the housing/mounting bracket so I thought the new one would to. It has two hot/power leads coming (one for in and one for out) but the housing isn't ground. I'm not sure if it's a defective unit or I'm missing something. Summit's tech line didn't know and Auto Loc will not return my calls or emails. Can anybody help me with this. Thanks,
