Rodder's Roundtable / Found It!
May 09, 2008, 08:42:45 AM
Hi,thanks for all the help, and yeps found the wiring diagram, started tracing wires and found out that someone for some unknown reason put a 'hot' jumper wire from the alt, exciter wire to the elec fuel pump and was feeding back into the alt, thus keeping everything hot even when switch was off (I'm talking ran so you could drive it around the block) not just few second like with feedback from electric fans, Cut the wire, everything including the fuel pump works fine,But just to keep my friend happy installed a toggle switch for the wire,,,,,,,ONCE again thanks for all the quick replies,
{PS} This is one reason I prefer to have the diagrams,Even when doing complete rewiring,,,Thanks,

Quote from: "EMSjunkie"Yep. do a search, I think there is a diode or something you need to put between the dizzy and the ignition switch, I think :?

I know it has been discussed before, just not sure when

Ah now to find out 'when',because seems is feeding back from the alt,or something,It belongs to a friend and He says just started doing it,while sitting parked,as said the switch works like it should unitl the engine is fired then even in off positiong keeps running and the current stays on the fuse panel,,,,,as well as to the distributor,
