Rodder's Roundtable / Re: Who's Going To Auburn This Weekend?
August 31, 2011, 11:19:32 PMQuote from: "39deluxe"The Auburn Fall Auction (Auction America by RM) starts tomorrow. There seems to be a good selection of hot rods and customs listed for the auction and there are always a bunch of them in the cars for sale corral. Lot numbers 5191, 5186, 4029, 4221, and 3106 I find very interesting.
Friday afternoon and evening will be the cruise in around the courthouse square in downtown Auburn. It has became one of the biggest one day events in the area with the cars circling the square and many adjoining blocks. This is also right in the middle of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival. lots to see and do.
I'm heading over in the morning and will be going back each day.

Before A/C my whole house fan was mounted with the shaft vertical. You may want to look at one of them and compare.

Rodder's Roundtable / Carb Clean Up
January 12, 2011, 05:33:54 PM
I recently noticed some scaling/corrosion on my edelbrock 4 barrel carb along with general fading of the metal. I need to pull it off and blast it. What media would you recommend to clean it up and bring it back to a like new appearance?

In 2006 Lou Chenot was in attendence at the car show in downtown Auburn that is part of the annual ACD gathering over Labor Day weekend. He had the 1/6 scale 1932 Duesenberg on display that was in the process of being built. What a piece of art. A crowd was constantly around him asking numerous questions and admiring his work. Even the ACD crowd was impressed with him and his work. A fine gentleman to talk with and truly an artist. Can you imagine the patience it takes to build one of these. I would imagine there are no BFHs to align things that do not quite cooperate during assembly.

Rodder's Roundtable / Autorama Story
March 08, 2008, 08:20:54 AM
If your attending Autorama check out the Cavalcade of Customs display especially the lime green caddy and his two buddies.
Chuck Miller who organizes the display was in Kansas last year and attended a car show and started talking to a few people about the Autorama. He liked the caddy and invited the guy, who lived in Colorado to display the car at this years Autorama. The guy introduced Chuck to two of his buddies who also had nice custom cars. Chuck ended up asking all three to attend the show. They all agreed
About a week before the show Chuck received a call from the guy who said that they had made arrangements to trailer the cars on a three car hauler to Autorama but the truck that was hauling the trailer broke so they were trying to make other arrangements.
Chuck thought the worst, that he would be three cars short for the display. The guy called back the next day and said that they were all set and would be there. Chuck asked if they found another truck? They said no, and Chuck figured they would each trailer their own vehicles to the show.
When questioned further they stated no problem, they were going to drive the cars from Colorado. They left and ran into the storm that we had here last week with no major problems except for the snow, sleet, rain, salt, etc.
That's a committment.
Stop by and say hello to the guys from Colorado
