6" by 9". The speakers are mounting in the rear corners of an AD truck cab. There is limited room and I did not make the first try deep enough to clear the magnets on the speakers. I was able to recycle the first try for the front speakers that were smaller. I used 1/8" ABS plastic lined with acoustic foam.

Here's a trick that you may have seen, to have the speakers "see" a larger volume box to improve the base response; insert a fair amount of poly-fil into the boxes. Pack it loosely, leaving enough room to easily insert your speakers into the boxes.

I made some speaker boxes today, I still have to paint them. This is the second try. The speakers were too deep to fit in the first try. I installed the dash brace I made, this was a second try too, but I was able to re-use half of the first try. I am on the first try to make a USB plug bracket, don't hold your breath.

Curious; boxes for what size speakers?

Another tip: Find a friendly full-service  bicycle shop in your area that will let you go through their parts bins; you'll usually find lots of pieces/parts that will re-purpose in our hobby.

The October 2020 Hot Rod Magazine print issue, page 70, has an answer for you; though it appears to be a bit more involved than one would expect.  Redline Gauge Works is the company cited; the cost approaches $300 for a converted gauge.

I second adding sound deadener to a stainless steel sink; big difference in taking the "ring" out of the stainless.  Installed a new double stainless sink last year with deadener from the factory, only on the bottom, but nowhere else. I added Dynamat Extreme to all the sides, including the center divider section; sounds almost like a cast-iron porcelain sink.  Well worth the effort.....

For starters, when was the last time the transmission fluid was flushed/changed?  If you're not sure, a fluid change would be wise.  At least pull the trans dipstick to check/smell for burnt fluid; a clear indicator to change the fluid; a good first step to a diagnosis.....

Additionally, they may be covered by your insurance.  Also, if you purchase one, I suggest that you use frozen water bottles; equally effective, & less cleanup. One worked great for me for post knee replacement surgery pain/swelling.

As it's your Wife's car, consider an "H" pipe as well.......

My thoughts:  It's a model A; trying to make any parts "swoopy" kind of takes away from the charm of the older body style.  Simple rolled edges should suffice; no need for flairs, or numerals, to detract from from the clean lines that you have created, IMHO.

Yes, on the B&D Workmate!  I suggest that you look on Craigslist, or alternative sites, for an older unit with the aluminum frame; heavier, & sturdier than the current units.  (I've had both of them....)
