Rodder's Roundtable / Re: 1939 Chevy trans fitment
June 20, 2022, 10:23:25 AM
Thanks. Good info.  I don't have any trans in the car currently.  Just wondering if the original trans tunnel would clear the 4L60E/700R4 trans.

Rodder's Roundtable / 1939 Chevy trans fitment

Anyone running a 4L60E in a 1939 Chevy?  I think they are the same size as a 700R4, not sure.  Wondering if the stock trans tunnel will clear the trans or if I need a larger tunnel.  Any info greatly appreciated.

Rodder's Roundtable / led shop lights
November 09, 2021, 04:44:26 PM
Does anybody have recommendations for LED shop lights?  I had 20, 4 foot long, fluorescent fixtures. Tried the Walmart LED bulbs that work in the fluorescent fixtures, but 2 have already died. Maybe in there a year.  Gonna have to brake down and spend the cash for some true LED fixtures/bulbs.
If you can point me in a good direction, I would appreciate it. Thanks

Not going to be able to make it this year.  Wife has a medical procedure in the morning and i don't want to risk the 5 hour ride in the abone pickup.  Maybe next year.

Rodder's Roundtable / 30 A pickup seat
August 01, 2021, 04:19:02 PM
Any suggestions for a seat that fits a 1930 Model A pickup?   Have a stock seat in it now and after about an hour or so sitting on it you can hardly move.  Looking for something with more support under the thighs. Too much pressure on the butt as is.  Maybe a 2nd or 3rd seat from a van or something similar.  Can't spring for one of the aftermarket seats, too much $$$.

Thanks for the replies.  We've never been and are looking forward to going this year.  Can't make it to Louisville this year so we thought we would try the Frog Follies. We booked a room at the Quality Inn East.  Now just need to get the abone ready.

Thinking about going to the Frog Follies next month.  Never been so looking for advice as to where is a decent place to stay.   Any input, negative or positive, would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Just wondering if anyone has used the */Absolute sheet metal dash for a 1939 Chevy. It is a replacement for the original but has a flat face for gauges.  How was the installation and fit?  Thanks for any info you can give.

That was my thought also.  Figured the jacks may be less expensive than buying acme threaded rods an nuts.

Rodder's Roundtable / rotisserie mount

Thanks for the input.  Will consider it all.  I have a body cart I'm going to convert to a rotisserie.  Found plans on the web and will modify to suit.  Been wondering if a trailer jack could be adapted to use for the fine adjustment for center of gravity height.  Don't know if they hold position in both directions as when the car is bottoms up.  Any thoughts?

Rodder's Roundtable / rotisserie mount

Anyone had a 1939 Chevy sedan on a rotisserie?  Need to get to the bottom of mine for cleaning and coating as soon as I recover from rotator cuff surgery.    Not sure where the best rear mount position would be.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.
