Dont know what gm spec is but Ford says no more than 50 miliamps. Why dont the interior lights work? Is there a module that controls interior lights? If so unplug it? Had a 92 Olds ninety eight, If I remember right, I had a bad drivers door latch, it was not turning off the cluster and I think the radio, when you turned the key off the cluster and radio stay powered up until it see's a door ajar signal. If your door ajar switch is bad, things dont power down, and interior lights dont come on(when the door is opened) My car was a beater and the ajar switch was only available from the dealer as a latch assembly, so I isolated the wire at the latch and hooked up a momentary switch to ground. As long as remembered to hit the switch when I got out everything was cool.

Rodder's Roundtable / Electric fan sensor

If you can put it in the head, that is probly the best. This way your fan turns on when an expensive heat sink gets hot, instead of waiting for a lesser item (intake or radiator). Althouh marginal, coolant will do what it is supposed to do and cool off so what you read in the radiator may be less then what the head temp is. Now if you are like me, IT DOES NOT MATTER CAUSE I ONLY LOOK AT THE GAS GAUGE.(occasionally)

looks really clean, you do nice work. Are those standard 1/4 inch rivits holding the latch? If so how well do they hold up?

sounds like a fuel issue, or I should say fuel strategy issue, take off the maf sensor and clean it with carb or brake clean and then spray it with low pressure compressed air to dry, clean the resistor portion, have also seen cat converters plug, as suggested above, use a vacuum gauge or diconnect them from the manifolds(if easy), otherwise find a good ford tech, or lesser tech who knows eec5(obdII) Re post when you find out what fixed it, I am currious.

PICS WOULD BE GREAT. THAT IS WHAT I'M HOPEING FOR, KEEPING THE MOVING PARTS IN THE CAB AND NOT THE DOOR.
Quote from: "enjenjo"I did a 47 Chevy pickup that way, it works great.

I mounted the strikers on the door, with a 1/4" plate plug welded to the door back, and filled all the other holes. I then mounted the latch in the door jamb. I put manual inside handles in the seat riser, outside of the seats, just where your hand falls when you straighten your arm. I used some small inside door handles from a Nissan pickup. There is also a screw motor mounted down there to open the doors from the outside, remotely. Also, there is a cable from the latch that runs through the floor, that will manually open the door from the outside if the battery is dead, since the battery is under the floor. The cables I used were bicycle brake cables.

It also has power windows with the controls mounted on the center console, so there is nothing on the inside door panel except the arm rest.

I can take some pictures if you want.
