We still have one in S.E. Wisconsin but when the insurance becomes unbearable it'll fold like the rest.

Thank Goodness for hoarders! :D

Hey guys... it's been a while since I've been here but I've been busy keeping a roof over the family's heads and it's been a slow go on gathering parts for my next Roadster project.

I was going to run a 394 Olds but the engine was far from rebuilt and it wouldn't be cost effective.

So I'm open on the engine and trans combination... as I'm not to picky nas long as I can find traditional speed equipment to knock it out of the stock engine look.

Basically it's going to resemble the Roadster pictures above except I want to have a hood and motorcycle type fenders wide whites and shiny paint! Basically I want it to resemble the Ricky Nelson Roadster.

Small Block Chevy? Ford Y Block? Olds 324, 372?

What's your thoughts??

This is how I sold it...

The interior is to "DIE FOR"...

"Not bad for a ratrod"! Hahaha...!

Thanks TJs Dad...

I sold the car last December and it's all painted with a custom interior and it looks outstanding however it's still called a "ratrod" (?)!!!! LOL...!

I did retain the grill shell and I'm gathering parts to build the "191" Roadster for my 191st car![/img]

Quote from: "junkyardjeff"The traditionalists are getting just as bad as the restorers in the AACA,I am glad I dont have cars that could be shown in either one of those type shows.

I loved the early days of the HAMB and still enjoy a bunch of the people I've met through the HAMB but us "Old Timers" have noticed the shift from innovation... to traditional restorations... then a lot of slowed down responding to "What do you think this is worth threads"... and haters of anything modern!

My Roadster had a 455 Olds engine... not a J2 Olds or 394... I had a 700R4 tranny not a manual 3 or 4 speed... my Quickchange was a early seventies Winters with early seventies circle track JFZ's all around  not the expensive Halibrand early V8.

And to top it off... I ran radials for 24,000 trouble free miles!

I built the car with what I had available and achieved getting it on the road for less than the price of a used Japanese motorcycle!

The the "Hunnert" is this weekend and the weather is beautiful... but this will be the first one i'll miss since the 2nd show and there will be a bunch of threads on the HAMB regarding what made it in and what didn't and I could give a ratz *... because i'm enjoying the day wrenching on some junk in the garage!

Nothing to do with the tires... looked like both of the super light weight wheels snapped at the hub.

It's where Denise goes every year!

If you want to race your traditional car down the Quarter Mile and hang out with a few thousand car nuts... Mokan is the place![/img]

I deal with orphan engines all the time... there's so few of us and many engines are surfacing everyday mainly from the Hoarders of the world dieing off!

Rodder's Roundtable / Aluminum Radiators
November 16, 2009, 10:57:17 PM
Quote from: "HotRodLadyCrusr"I'd be careful ordering the PRC radiator off that old Streetrod Stuff website.  Not too long ago a pal didn't get his radiator nor return emails.  There are new owners I guess.  Not sure if anything has been resolved.

I went to a local radiator shop and had them build me a custom AL one and fan schoud to match.  Was way less than purchasing a Walker, Be Cool or any of those other name brand ones.  I've got over 100,000 miles on my radiator in 7 summers and have yet to have one issue with it.  Best $425 I ever spent on Big Olds.

Purchase right the first time and be done with it.

Hey Denise... Got a New Walker from "The Hot Rod Company" in Madison WI from Mike paid $417 Total with a certain alliance discount!

I've had two Walkers last over 20 years each and there's a quality story right there.

Congratulations Glenn...

I wish I could've run you at Mokan but I stopped the "Rocket Sled" project after I realised that I would need a completely different chassis that would pass NHRA Rules.

The next car will be a test bed for my Olds engines and I hope that I can get that good of performance out of my car as you have!

I've got a couple of portable 1655's that are 110 and 12V DC so we can test boats in the marina.

Last year you couldn't touch these for less than a Grand each and right now I can't get $700 for the pair!!!!
