hey mike, i am running the same set up as you pictured,
my problem is the pump ears stick out to far, i need to keep every thing in side the frame rails \,
im looking for that saddle mount, or what ever its called
#3
what im looking for is the horseshoe looking front motor mount mounting bracket, it bolts to the block with 2 holes on each side inside the water pumps, and the motor mounts bolt to it.
i have a 51 8ba block. im stuffing it in my 29 2 door sdn,

hi, yes i need something to run the water pump belt around, the fan pulley has 1 grove, so if i remove the fan, i need a idler or tensioner pulley to replace it with.
ive seen some pics, but cant find the part.

Rodder's Roundtable / 4 bar set-up
January 30, 2007, 12:05:08 AM
hey guys,
on a 4 bar system, the bars need to run parallel to each other, but do they haft to run parallel to the ground ?
it seams on my 36 truck, the bars need to run at a slightly upwards angle to keep the front mounting brackets from hanging way down under the frame.
thanks,

Rodder's Roundtable / top chopping
January 29, 2007, 11:47:57 PM
hi guys and thanks the responses to my post.
i have been pondering and pondering for a while, i have books,
" how to build a hot rod ford model A "
" how to chop tops, by tex smith "
the problems im having are these.
first off, the b pillars arnt alone, in side them are wood filled structural supports pillars, and between these is some sort of fiber glass insulation, and rust, oh yea, rust.
so, thus my first problem,  you cant just weld all this back together , welding the b pillar to the support pillar.
i think im goanna weld the b pillars on the out sides and then remove the inner supports so i can weld the inside of the b pillars and then weld the support pillars back together.
next problem is the A pillars.
i cut 5 inches out of the top, and the top is proubly a 1/4 wider than the bottom at the a pillars, tex smiths book shows him using a big ol jack to spread the bottom to fit the top,
any thoughts ?
thanks guys.

Rodder's Roundtable / rubber bump stops
January 07, 2007, 09:47:40 PM
id like to not run bumpers.
im running hal coil overs with 4 inch travel.
i am goanna set it up so my diff. 9 inch, hits the bumpers wright b4 my shocks could bottom out.
so you think i wouldn't need bumpers ?
i cant see me ever having enofe weight in my car to bottom them hals.
but i dont think i ever want my shocks to bottom out, but i guess a dallas pot hole could get me.
i was wondering if the coils wouldn't bottom out b4 the shock did ?

January 07, 2007, 01:44:38 PM
hi all,
well thanks to a couple people here i think i have most of my 4-bar set up figured out, now im trying to figure if i need rubber stoppers so my shocks cant bottom out ?
all the 4 bar set ups ive seen, i cant seam to see any stops.
i was thinking of mounting something on my frame so the diff housing hits it b4 the shocks bottom out.
any subjections ?
thanks.
