Rodder's Roundtable / Question for the new guys..
December 27, 2006, 10:20:50 PM
I found this place a little while back when I checked in on the SRS board (it's dead now, slow) and caught a post of someone asking were everyone was. Someone replied and said they had mostly come over here, so here I came too. There's way more going on here, I just don't have much to talk about usualy unless there's something going on about metal shaping and cutting stuff up. But I lurk every couple nights or so just to see what's up new. Great site. Mark.

Rodder's Roundtable / So, whadidyadothisweekend?

I locked in the front hubs on my pick-up and cruised the framers land looking for a Christmas tree. Found a tree, and spent 20 mins crawling around a '40 something Chevy pick-up out in the woods. It was at the far end of a real muddy field, so had fun in 4 wheel getting over to it, then made my way back. About 12 feet into it the first way across I realized it wasn't all mud.... Frank was "spread'n" there if ya know what I mean. So my wife just LOVED the smell when I parked it back in the driveway, lol. I guess it's a good thing I didn't have the tree in the back yet when I hit the field or it wouldn't be going in the house! Mark.

Sure, there's lots of pics at my web site. www.midnightoilworks.com
It's a mixture of car and bike jobs, but I do any kind of shaping, I've been making some panels for a guy restoring old gas pumps lately. Check it out, Thanks for the interest, Mark.

I wonder how it leaves the tree at the dragstrip.

Hello everyone. My name is Mark. I'm in Rome, NY. I used to be a regular on the street rod stuff forum a couple (3?) years ago as "Dragula55" and hadn't been online in a LONG time. I visited over there to find it DEAD, but there were a couple posts saying people had switched to this board, and scrolling down here, I see some familar names. Very Cool. I used to work at Tucci's in Marcy NY, left there last Sept. and opened my own place (sink or swim time kids) last Jan. I'm a metal shaper and a little of a fabricator as well. I enjoy chopping channeling and sectioning anything on wheels, building body panels from scratch, as well as a lot of motorcycle stuff. I don't have my own 4 wheeled ride at this point, so cutting everyone else's up has to do for me for now. Anyways, just wanted to say hello and hope to make some good friends here, and learn/pass on knowledge. Mark.
