Rodder's Roundtable / State Car Plate
March 08, 2013, 07:27:20 AM
Well thats a good story. Also I didnt know, that once a person descards the car etc, the lic Plate becomes avail again. I know some states the plate gos with the car. In Kansas ,the owner keeps the plate as the car moves on. Would be cool to have a USA wide club started ,for all that had a State Plate,of course you would only have 50 Members max :)lol

Yes, Im inprocess of relocating that switch to under the dash. That is the trunk switch :) It had been under the body at the rear .. A pain as the key has to be on to operate the trunk..

The nuts arnt acessable. They are in side the trunk down below an interior trunk upholsery brd, and trunk is elect from inside the drivers compartment.  Any way, sorry for such a big pig pic, I used tiny pic to post, but came out way big. Still stoked that I was able to get that plate. No one can believe it had never been issued or asked for?

Those Rancheros are collectable now,Seen a lot of them restored and hot rodded any way. My 1ST "new" car was a 1967 SS/RS Camaro, with the 350,4spd,4:10 posi.  It came from Flint Michigan. http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/chevy/67ca/67ca.html

Rodder's Roundtable / New Guy here !!
January 29, 2013, 08:35:37 PM
Quote from: "Mikej"Mine was fairly easy. I have suicide doors so the actuators are not in the door. I have gold trims guages so I used brass parts. Some plumbing fitting that I rounded and brass rod. It is just a push button mounted under the dash with linkage that pushs down on the actuator. I worried about being in an accident or a fire and not getting out. Has worked well for 50000+ miles.
Well I got the new hagen gas lid latch installed. Havent done any thing else. It was 76 yesterday, ,now its cold again and supposed to get snow

Quote from: "Mikej"My car didn't have any way to manually open the doors from the inside. That was the first thing I fixed. My hood sides come off so I can charge at the Alt. or at the starter. I also have a hidden wire to pull to open the door from the outside of the car.
I,d be interested in hearing about your door opening fix. I know I could put my trickle charger on the starter, But would be soo much easier to have a place under the rear ,where the battery is ,to easly connect to. Its been soo cold here, havent done any thing ,but order a few parts. My Hagan gas filler lid, magnetic latch broke,so had to order a replacemet. I have a set of SS Block Huggers coming today,as Im gonna put a full exhaust on the car, also hood sides and side windows, etc.

Yes,I had an extra pair of those in my cuboard. Gonna use a piece of alum "L"  bracket and using the 2  exsisiting mounting bolts for the end of the fuel tank to mount the bracket under neath.  Thank you for responding.
Would it be wise to fasten full amperage 12 volt connection fasteners to a fuel tank mount? GPster
These are completely insulated by the design, Have used them on many cars. But I dbl checked that area ,as Im gonna be putting full exhaust on the 32. Any who.. that area ,isnt available. It has a sunken area on the floor under that tank mount ,that I hadnt noticed before. But need to find a piece of metal under there near the battery ,,,Hopfully that I can use. That battery dies,I would be up the creek.
