Rodder's Roundtable / New Rear Suspension for 1939 Olds?
September 20, 2006, 02:55:48 PM
I built a 39 Olds sedan a few years ago and used a rear end out of a mid 70's Cutlass. I used all the original trailing arms, etc. but used the Cutlass coils in order to get the height I desired. My car had sat in a barn for 40 years and the rubber inserts in the clamps were still good. The change was almost too easy, since my projects never seem to go easy. You will have to make the shock mounts. I used a Nova sub-frame and the ride was excellent. Good luck with your project.

Rodder's Roundtable / AC UNITS
July 26, 2006, 08:44:51 AM
I installed a Gen-II mini in a Deuce coupe last year and another in a 31 Chevy coupe last month. Both fit nice, but both had the fuse block mounted on the inside of the firewall on the drivers side, so I had to install the evaporator in the center, and a little toward the passenger side. The only clearance problem was with the center hoses and the gauges. Both cars had the gauges mounted in the center of the dash. Not a big problem, nothing you can't work around. Both units work great, all electric, no vacuum. I don't know what year Merc you are working on but the full size Vintage unit would probably fit fine. My next project is a 55 Chevy and it appears to have plenty of room for the evaporator and it uses the original 55 controls. Good luck.

Quote from: "blksheep"I think it's a brillant attempt to scam the curious ones. Got my attention.
Frankly,  that leaking harley, oops, I mean holley carb, is calling for a little of his idle time.
blksheep...directly injected...in Charlotte

Wonder where the coil wire is going? It doesn't appear to be hooked to anything visable.....
