Rodder's Roundtable / New feature
January 29, 2005, 11:20:07 PM
I retired a few years ago as a computer teacher in junior high--don't worry, I let most of the kids live.  I always showed them a poem when introducing the spelling checker.

I have a spelling checker,
It came with my PC,
It plane lea marques for my revue,
Miss takes eye cannot sea.

I've run this poem threw it,
I'm sure your pleased to no,
Its letter perfect, in it's weigh,
My checker tolled me sew.

Just run that poem through the checker and you'll find it's correct--my point is that a spelling checker isn't perfect but it is a help.  How many mistakes did I make?

Rodder's Roundtable / SNOW!!!
January 21, 2005, 08:09:41 PM
I sure enjoyed the 74 degree day though the sun did get hidden by clouds this afternoon.  We are supposed to have a cold front Sunday which will drop the temp near freezing.  Don't worry, I'll pay this summer!

Maybe you forgot a space between <put> and <a> and we would have a word most Texans, New Mexicans and Arizonians would recognize!

"...we're all starting to sound like a bunch of crabby old school teachers"

Now watch it, 40, I am a crabby old school teacher!  But I have an excuse, I taught junior high!

Paul, welcome and you've come to the right place.  I'm not one to give you a lot of suggestions--others who post here have much more knowledge than I do.  There are a few companies other than Street Beasts who sell partially-built street rods with fiberglass bodies on complete chassis.  Look in magazines such as Street Rodder, Street Rod Builder, etc. for their ads.  Do some research on the internet to find out what their customers say about the companies.  I'm pleased to welcome you to the Roundtable.  Don't be afraid to ask questions here.

PurplePickup, this is OlBuzzard (Chuck).  I just got back after a short trip.  If you'd tell me how to turn on the PM I'd be glad to do so.

If any of you have a tree or branch broken which has some special memories, send me a chunk of wood and I'll be glad to make you a pen/pencil out of it.  The parts cost about 10 bucks each.  It does need to be a hardwood.

I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but where in Texas?

I've used Gorilla Glue in woodworking and would definitely recommend AGAINST using it.  It requires at least one surface being damp because it cures in the presence of humidity and then it foams like crazy.

I tried to watch it but, as usual, the whining and *', cussing and fussing and screaming reminded me of my first wife.  I could only watch it a few minutes.  What a wonderful expose into the true characters of all rodders, or so the image is presented.

How about incense?  That would give you a smoke trail to look for leaks.

I can't imagine the pain you're going through--I just imagine what it would be like without my precious wife of 29 years.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Chuck & Marye
