Quote from: "Jokester"Hi all.  I'm new to the KC area.  What's the best route to take to get to Springfield, MO?  71?  65?  or what?

Thanks in advance.

Take 71 south 'till you get about 2 miles south of Harrisonville.
exit on highway 7 and take it to Clinton, then take highway 13 south in to Springfield. That's the best and fastest route.
There's some construction on 71 which I don't think will EVER end, but once you get off that mess, you'll be fine.
The fairgrounds is only a couple blocks north of I-44, so get in the left turn lane of hwy13 when you see the Springfield city limit sign, then turn left on Norton road. Take Norton rd. a couple blocks, and you'll see it on your left.
email me if you need any other info.

Quote from: "40"Thanks Al....I think I've got a pair located but I'll keep that info handy just in case.Hope you're enjoying the heck out of your 36...Mine is STILL at the painters....he works on it about 3 or 4 hours once in a while on Sunday   if it's not too hot or cold, too wet or dry etc,etc...I'm not sure I'll live long enough to enjoy or if he'll live long enough to finish it!
Daryle, At the PATE swap meet yesterday, I spotted 2 pair of 36 brackets, no 35's. Sorry. One set I found actually had 35/36 written on them, but as you know, many of those peddlers don't really know the details of what they have.
We bought a MII front end kit for my nephew Caleb's 47 Chevy pickup, cruised up and down every isle, and got the H out of there before the storms hit. Got back to Mo. a couple hours ago.

Quote from: "40"I have been tearing my 35 Ford Coupe apart for a repaint and in the process, realized I am missing the two headlight braces that bolt to the front frame horns up under the fenders and support the headlights. It was restored many years ago and a cover from an electrical junction box was drilled and mounted beneath the fender for support....it looks pretty tacky and I want to replace them with the original braces if I can find them.Just wondering if anyone has a pair laying around or may know of a source to locate them??Another question....I have my 36 Coupe apart as well and though the 36 braces look like they will work, does anyone know if they are the same for sure??Thanks!!

Daryle, the 36 brackets are different according to my friend who owns a 35 sedan and also does rodder bodywork. He says the 35 brackets resemble an eyebrow in shape, and the 36's are different in shape.
I'm going to the PATE swap meet in Texas this weekend. Email me with a phone # and I'll call you from down there if I run accross anything.

My nephew Caleb and I will be there searching for parts for his '47 Chevy...any one else planning on being there?

Geez Daryle, that does suck.
I watched the weather forecast down here at 6pm and they talked about western Iowa getting hit hard. I thought about you over there.
Cold rain here, but moving out.
Hey, we've got an extra room here at the house if you come down for NSRA Springfield. let me know.

Quote from: "mrloboy"Hi all!
I thought it appropriate to introduce myself to the board. I have been lurking here for awhile and have found the information and comradery to my tastes and felt it was time to join the mix. I recognize many names here from previous boards that I have been akin to, and to all those who remember me, a warm hello! To the rest of you, I look forward to future informative exchanges and hopeful personally meetings somewhere, somehow, sometime.

I am located in the remote community of Baldur, Manitoba, Canada, about 20 miles north of the US border. I own and operate a street rod fabrication facility and dabble in metal sculturing as a hobby.

I am single and have two children. My son Andrew (15) lives with me and my daughter Jessica is attending University in Alberta on her journey into a career in medicine.

I drive a 1961 Pontiac Parisienne (Canadian model) convertible, basically stock, mildly lowered with a 350/TH350 drivetrain. I have a couple hundred or so project cars in my back yard to play with, I just can't make up my mind which one I want! Top on the list is a '52 Buick Roadmaster convertible.

I hope to have some helpful input to some of the topics here. I do know, that there is much to learn from all the member already present on the board.   Regards: rj
