Rodder's Roundtable / Help with my Deuce front end

Your garage is way too clean. We need to bring over some dirt and oil.

Welcome. Schieb was my nickname after high school. I ran a body shop for awhile and ended up painting all my friends cars.

Who's Earl Schieb? Certainly not the chain. Looks very good.

GEEZ. I feel sorry for ya! It seems to be real difficult to find someone who cares enough to make sure things are right.  My theory is that 20% of the people do the thinking and work for the remainder. If you don't get one of the 20%, you're in trouble.

That sure is great that someone was that lucky. Very rare that you find a car that hasn't been stripped or ruined.

One other option if you don't have a pressure bleeder. Mityvac. I bought the complete kit for about $50. Hand vacuum pump will allow you to do lots of things.

Just in case you're interested, Kirker automotive urethane. It comes in 40 colors which may be a problem. Buy it from smartshoppersinc.com for really competitive prices. I used their single stage urethane on my truck and was pleased.  They offer good primers also.  Kirker has a website but I don't think you'll see anything that isn't on the other guys' site.

Rodder's Roundtable / Friends gone
March 20, 2005, 06:47:13 PM
I had someone ask me if I exercised a few years ago. I said, nah, been getting to much exercise being a pall bearer at funerals.  I lost 9 people within 45 days. Fortunately, that has slowed up. It takes me about 15 years to develop a real friendship. At my age, there probably won't be anymore. I sure understand.

Rodder's Roundtable / Question about western roads
March 16, 2005, 06:15:56 PM
You need to state if you want to site see or not. I25 south is very busy until you get south of Pueblo. You can stay on it until Albuq. and take I40 across or you can see some really beautiful country.  If you take 50 west from Pueblo and turn south at Montrose, you will see some of America's finest. End up at Durango, Go to Chinle Az. and stop at Canyon De Chelle. Then head south to I 40 and make decisions from there.

I think using the ceramic liquid as a base and using anything else over it should be wonderful. I drove my truck around with bare metal floor and firewall for about 3 years. The difference that 3 layers of coolcar and light carpet made is almost unbelievable. I wish I had decided to put on the coolcar when I started so I could have sprayed it everywhere. I have used the double foil with bubblewrap before and really like it but it does add thickness and as someone else stated, you can't use it on the floor. I looked at dynamat also. They recommend you use 2 types of their product to do a good job. Pricey and labor intensive for installation.

I used Coolcar. I'm impressed so far. Lizard skin advertises that it's better. If it is, I think you'd be really satisfied.
