Rodder's Roundtable / Shop layout ideas
December 02, 2009, 12:55:42 AM
i have a shop that is 20 x 24, and a closed in attached carport 10 x 20(3 sides closed in)on the south side, with a man door in to the main shop area. the carport has concrete floors and houses metal storage rack, tire machine, parts washer, and the sand blast cabinet. i try and do the dirty work out there.

Anyone know where to buy one of these? I'm talking about the kind that are like a small pair of pliers and made just for this type of deal. You drill a small hole and these pliers take tiny little bites untill you get just the shape you need. They're perfect for cutting a little notch on top (or wherever you need it) to stop switches from turning in a round hole etc.

i bought mine at a electronics supplier, in there tool section, i believe it was norvac electronics.

just  thought, have you looked at the adjustable mounts used on 92-97 ford crown vics? they are used on the radiator core, have a rubber bottom, and have "steps" that you can adjust for height....

or these at summit

You could buy a lot of gas for the 30% hit your going to take...
That's part of why I'm holding off. But what happens when cost creates a cash flow problem? It's one thing for America to change a lifestyle, what's going to happen when we just can't afford the gas to get the working class to work?

umm... maybe a "working flat" in the city  ie... a cheap apt/room, till things, level out?

Rodder's Roundtable / Coupe is out to paint :)

Quote from: "Beck".....when I got home from work. I flipped on the furnace (mistake #1) and mixed the paint. The garage was cold, including the truck. .....

that was your first and biggest mistake.....

depending on the temperature before furnace turn on... things tend to "sweat" when first getting warm

always have the garage and item being painted at temp for 6 hours before starting....
