Rodder's Roundtable / trouble with mustang power rack

Are you building a NASCAR?  If so, you're all set.  Just trying to help...

I (think) I'm building a '36 Ford too, but so far progress is that of a glacier.  Keep up the good work, Tom G.

Dave, you have our condolences and prayers.  I kind of know how you feel.  My dad died Mar 1, 2004.  I miss him every day.  But grand kids are very good medicine.  Take a big dose every day that you can.
Take care, Tom & Sue.

Frank, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.  I haven't met you in person yet, but from what I know of you here on the RRT - to be called a close friend of yours is a real compliment.  He must have been quite a guy and will surely be missed.  Take care, we'll keep you both in our prayers.

Wasn't the chicken wire just there for the radio antenna?  I didn't know it added any structural support.  Why not just skip it?  Just my two cents worth.  In any case, sounds like one of those jobs where you could always use one extra hand.  Good luck.

You're so right Bill.  It was a great day for Sue and me - and a great day for the show.  How about this midwest weather?

We got to go at the "last minute" when Sue's work schedule changed so didn't get to stay overnight but made a good long day of it on foot Sat.  Had a great lunch with friends we hadn't seen for over a year.  Met some new friends too.  Daryle's signature line says it all - The one who dies with the most friends wins.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Bill, I forwarded the link to one of my brothers with the title "just like being there".  Tom & Sue G.

Rodder's Roundtable / I lost my best friend Saturday
December 27, 2004, 01:14:22 PM
Joe,

You have our deepest sympathies on the loss of your soul mate.  I don't know how hard this must be exactly.  Sue and I have been doing all we can to help my brother cope with the loss of his wife last May.  They would have had 35 years together in Aug.

Prayer helps us, we'll send some along for you and Jackie.  We'll meet someday and chat of the better days.  Sincerely, Tom & Sue G.

Quote from: "enjenjo"Sorry, but Amarillo didn't impress me. Not in 67 when I did basic training there, not in 70 when I nearly got snowed in there, not in 00 when I lost a U joint there, not in 01 when I went through a flood there.  you have worse weather there than we do here.

Basic training there in '67?  So did I.  Got there Dec 1.  Bad news was I'd be in basic over Christmas - good news was I'd be in (warm) Texas not in (cold) Iowa.  HA!  Every third guy in line got Amarillo.

Every morning when we got up we had to clear the snow off the (inside) of the window sill before inspection.  Then jump into our summer gear (the same stuff they issued the guys in San Antonio) and fall out to march to class.  Jan 17 they sent me to Shephard AFB in Wichita Falls.  Small world.

Thanks again.

I think I have my e-mail address fixed this time.  I must not have saved it correctly when I updated it last month.

I'll try to get the truck hoses before I do any drilling.  But the drilling doesn't seem too radical if needed.

Denise,

Daryle is right (again).  The guy with the good looking blonde was me, Tom Gebhart and my wife Sue.  That was our first meeting of RRT folks at a show.  A little cool on the weather side that weekend, but very warm on the friendly side.  Thanks for including us.  It's been a slow car year for us, but we work on Vicky whenever we can...it won't be long now...

Frank, had some more activity, but no progress.

I bought new BCA (made in usa) inner and outer bearings for the Granada rotors.  They look to be the same size as the (looked new) bearings I found inside the MII rotor.  I didn't mic them, just eyeball measure.

I bought rebuilt calipers and organic pads to test fit everything.

The new bearings didn't help the fit of the rotor.  Still need help here.

I may have found a clearance problem with the ebay bracket (I can fix that with my grinder, plenty of metal there).

The spindles have 52-7AA, a Ford logo, and 275 molded into the inside.  I think they are regular old Ford OEM spindles.  I will post some pics if I figure out how.  Thanks, Tom G.

Frank, thanks for the quick reply.  I found that I had not updated my profile with our new email address.  That's done now, should work next time.  javascript:emoticon('')
Embarassed  We gave in to our kids and got a cable modem connection and it is much faster.  That was a good move.  javascript:emoticon(':)')
Smile

I will NOT do any grinding before I have all the parts in front of me for test fitting.  And I'll ask about the "other" Granada 11' rotor.  Thanks again, Tom G.

What they ALL said.

After your email response to my call for help, I re-registered (almost on the first try) and I think I'm back in busness.  Now to catch up on my reading.  Always more to learn.  I'm really interested in the 11" brake thread.  Thanks again, Tom G.
