Rodder's Roundtable / Illinois Drivers Beware
May 08, 2008, 09:35:31 AM
Looks like Colorado will start doing the photo radar in construction sites too:

SPEEDING FINE STRUCTURE AFTER JULY 1, 2008: (not adding in surcharge)

MPH OVER
FINE
1-4
$30
5-9
$70
10-19
$135
20-24
$200

"CHARLES MATHER HIGHWAY SAFETY ACT" double fines in construction zones: (not adding in surcharge)

MPH OVER
FINE
1-4
$60
5-9
$140
10-19
$270
20-24
$540
The Charles Mather Highway Safety Act allows the state to use photo radar in construction zones.  Mather was hit and killed by a semi-truck in August 2006, while doing construction work on I-25 south of Colorado City.  Signs warning of photo radar use will be required to be posted four hours before construction begins.  It can only be used during active construction work.  Half of the money collected from construction zone fines will go into a work zone safety fund.

The fines for moving violations like careless driving, driving in the passing lane and not using your blinker also increase.  Instead of a minimum $10 fine, starting July 1 it will be $150.

We used DAS a few years ago to get a convertible GTO from New York to New Mexico. It was inclosed and on the top rack so nothing would drip on the white convertible top. Cost about 1 grand and arrived just fine.

Rodder's Roundtable / E-85
April 07, 2007, 10:22:14 AM
Ok I know this subject was discussed here in 2006 and 2005 but this is a new year and the price of regular gas keeps going up. E-85 seems to be growing in use and yes, Indy cars have started to run it with no apparent problems. New cars are being made now to be "flexible fuel" friendly but is anybody here using it in their older engined hotrods and if so, what are the changes you've had to make and hows it doing. We don't have it here in New Mexico yet but I know its coming

Rodder's Roundtable / Hidden Hinges
March 06, 2007, 06:46:04 PM
Does anyone have the Hagen Hidden Hinges installation video that I could get a copy of. I am installing a set of Rocky Hinges in my 38 chevy and the directions supplied with the Rocky hinges are not real specific. They have hand-drawn pictures and 3 photos that are not real clear. Im hoping the video will give me a better idea of how the hinges are installed.
Thanks,
The Guy who has NEVER built a car before

These are from Rocky Hinge and yes they do have the brass bushings in them. I guess the next step is to tack weld them in and start fitting the doors. Also will be getting the back door hinges soon. They will  be suicided

Rodder's Roundtable / info about me
September 17, 2006, 02:13:28 PM
I'm just a beginner car builder. This is the first time I have ever taken ANY car apart down to the frame and started over. We live in sunny New Mexico and besides the 38 we have a 1969 Camaro and a 1966 GTO. The 38 will have the original 350 motor from the Camaro, Heidt's independent front and rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 7004r tranny and a few other goodies. I'm only doing this once so I want to do it right!!!!! Some pictures are located at:

I really do appreciate the opportunity to pick everyones mind here and get all the good info that you guys have. Someday maybe i'll know something that will help someone else.   :D
