Tough enough now to choose from the three screw 9 1/2" 22 Mag - which I call my pocket rifle, won more than a few ham's and turkey's with it at the turkey shoots - the 44 and the 9mm P-89.
Carry different ones for different things when we go Jeeping & exploring the back country.[/quote]

Those 3 screws are becoming more valuable every day-very nice.

C9,

Isn't your .45 a Blackhawk? Love those, I just bought a Ruger Vaquero in .45 Colt (Stainless)-I don't believe there is a better, more durable Handgun made than Ruger-very nice!

1fat GMC,

What a great idea! I have been trying to figure out how to exhaust some Paint fumes out of my Shop and you have given me the answer-you are right-I have seen at least two of those thrown away around here this Summer-

Do you really want anybody? I Post infrequently, so I don't know if I qualify, but by definition I am mostly a lurker-

Rodder's Roundtable / Power Window Kit opnions wanted

Tom,

I paid right at $600 (including Freight)-ouch! Yes, it hurt, but when I heard a lot of horror stories about major problems with "will-fits", I sucked it up and emptied the Wallet-

as far as Cores, yes, you must provde the Cores on '35 and '36's (maybe others too, not sure), but I do understand, from the way they put it over the Phone, that that is not the case on everything-

I will say, however, that I couldn't believe that they were my old Regulators-I mean they looked like brand new, and the Gears were way overbuilt-

Count me in for Nu-Relics-I just sent them my '35 Ford Coupe Regulators and got them back withtin 10 Days (and that includes Ship time)-extremely impressed with the quality, and they told me that my Windows were designed to move backward as they roll down-do that with a will-fit kit.

40,

Thank you for the update-I'm about ready to just get in the "waiting line" and pay my dues-I may have to take the long way around and buy two Grilles (one to get me by, and wait for the one I really want)-it seems like '36's are becoming like '32's-there are more on the road than Henry made-at this point I have pretty much decided to keep it a '35-

Thanks to you for the warning-I will definitely heed it-

Rodder's Roundtable / 1935 Ford Grille

Quote from: "GPster"Don't know if it would be any easier, but, you could turn it into a '36 and put a LaSalle grill on it. I hate to say how long ago but at one time they did a build on a '36 roadster in Rod and Custom and the LaSalle grill was supposed to be an "old time" customizers trick. My main concern would be paperwork on the change. If you made it look like a '36 their might be some question about titling it as a '35. If you had an entirely different nose on it any question would be moot. It might help you to find all the build articles because the descriptions of differance between '35 and '36 were listed. There was a question if what they were working on was a '35 because of the nose that was on it in the salvage yard when they secured it. Of course they went to great lengths  to explain the reason for putting a Rambler motor in it. GPster

GPster,

Thanks for the ideas-the problem with using a LaSalle Grille (at least in my mind) is that I'm building it in a "Hot Rod" style (rake, Tubbed 12" wide wheels in rear, BBC), so I am not looking for that "Kustom" type of look-

As far as the differences, it appears that as far as the Frame, and general Body are concerned, they are identical, with minor differences (on the Cowl, the later '35's had an "X" stamped in it, there were some differences in the Window Regulators and such)-mine is a late '35, so with the exception of the Serial Number (which I don't think will be on File as this car hasn't seen the road in over 30 Years), ti could be an issue, but I am hoping that I could Title it as a '36 (if I HAVE to)-

I have two Lincoln Welders, one is a Pro Tig 185 and a SP-175-you can buy the Pro Mig 175 at Lowe's very reasonably (and have a place to get supplies on Sunday)-just a thought-

G'morning,

I am searching for ideas and insight-I am building a '35 Ford Five Window Coupe, and I am having trouble finding an Aftermarket Grille (I don't want a Stock one)-I am looking for a Stainless Grille (or Aluminum), and my choices are limited (that I can find)-here are the choices:

*Grille Art-nice guy, TWO Year waitlist, $2300.00

*Alumicraft-no longer has a website (kind of suspicious), and I've heard some nightmares about them.

*Hot Rods and Memorabilia-seems to be a reseller, doesn't know how long the wait would be, not very helpful which is concerning-

*turn it into a '36 (just now getting ready to order my Wescott's Fenders and running boards, could easily turn it into a '36)-price $300.00

There seem to be so many '36's (and I think a lot of guys turn '35's into '36's), but it is what it is-

Any ideas?

rumrumm,

Thank you very much for the reply-Rock Valley sent me an Aluminum Cap that has an o-ring, so maybe I'll just keep the Filler in the Trunk-

Rodder's Roundtable / Finished my trunk

rumrum,

I have a question-I have recently received a Custom built Tank for my '35 from Rock Valley, and I can either put a Hagan Filler Door on the outside of my Car or put the Filler inside the Trunk. I have thought about it a lot, and wonder if you have ever had any Gas smell in the Cab of your Coupe?

I am seeking ideas on this-I really don't want to put a Filler on the outside as I am going for a smoother look, but I wonder about dragging a Gas Hose over the Paint or spilling Fuel in the Trunk-I don't have any experience with this-any insights?

By the way, beautiful job on your Upholstery-I can only hope mine turns out as nice!
