I haven't posted in a while, but I finally got my roadster on the ground and actually drove it around the section. Still have some tuning to do on the injection but it does run and is lower than a snakes belly! I hope that I can get a couple of pictures to post.

Rodder's Roundtable / Some progress!
July 09, 2006, 01:13:33 PM
Just a couple of progress pic's of my track roadster. Since I have given up on trying to make Bonneville my wife found some house things I "had" to do so roadster progress has slowed. These pics show the fan mount and shroud, the windshield post and mounts, and you can kind of see the grill guard that I made from 3/16 stainless rod and some stainless screen.
Also included pic of engine which is my next real effort, new cams, new cam drive pulleys, got to have those neat anodized jobies like the "rice rocket" guys have.

I think that I've got the picture thing figured out so here are a couple of pictures of the progress on my 28/29 track roadster. Working on the windshield right now.

Rodder's Roundtable / Finishing my quick change:
March 07, 2006, 11:07:57 AM
I thought I'd send a couple of pictures of my completed quick change. I have had the mag center section Dow 7 coated, all new bearings, the axel housings are modified for full floating axels, all new ARP studs and twelve point fasteners and the brakes are Wilwood.

Next is the front axel and then start assembly!

Rodder's Roundtable / "Milky" head light lenses:
February 06, 2006, 12:21:37 AM
I have a set of what my neighbor, who gave them to me, are mid 20s head lights supposedly from an Auburn, that I am planning to put on my lakes roadster. They are almost 12 inches in diameter and will look really neat, BUT the original lenses are "milky" they have become less than clear over the years. Is this a surface defect that can be polished out or is it something that goes completely through the glass and I just have to live with it?

Any help will be appericated.

Rodder's Roundtable / New Member to say hello!
January 31, 2006, 04:49:38 PM
I was intro to this form by Sum from Utah, he and I are friends from Bonneville. Anyway I am building a 28/29 roadster pickup in lakes style. I am using steel panels from Brookfield and a set of 32 rails. I have narrowed the grill 5 inches, and the cowel 3 inches, and pinched the frame to 18 inches in the front, cut the back off and built a special crossmember to mount a T spring. The rear end is a Hildabrand early V8 quick change, somewhat rare is that it is mag and not aluminum. I have modified the axle housings to use Coleman Racing full floating hubs and it has Wilwood disc brakes all around.  Now don't kick me off the form for the next part but the engine is a Ford Zetec from a Focus. Four cylinder, 121 cu. inches, 4 valve, DOHC. I built a header and have TWM four port injectors, should make about 160hp but I don't think the car will weigh 1500 so it should be quick. The trans is a Borg Warner T5 from a 88 T Bird, so its got the good low gear. Aluminum bomber seats and the interior is aluminum paneled. I have either modified or built everything myself, hope to be on the road this summer and plan to drive it to B'ville in August. (I hope!) If I can figure out how to put pictures on the site I show some of the construction pics.[/img]
