Rodder's Roundtable / A little RRT survey
November 27, 2006, 10:01:47 AM
I voted wishy-washy.  Change is sometimes good.  A couple other forums I spend way more time at have "off topic" forums and I've stayed FAR away from them; they get some real wackos and flamers posting there.  I don't visit any BB for that kind of abuse.  Help me when I need it, accept my advise when you ask for it (you don't have to follow it but don't criticize if you don't), and otherwise leave me alone, thanks.

Since I haven't visited here in months I have very little to complain about and even less to try to change.

If the past is any judge, I'll check back here around the 4th of July!

Enjoy and be careful with space heaters this winter!

Don,

The dimensions are as follows...
Frame width is 53" at the top,
55-1/2" at the widest (support frames on each end)
Cushions are 52" wide.

I have some digital photos if you can let me know how to get them to you.
From what I've noticed on this forum, I can't just attach the photos and I'm not familiar with the public photo sites (I should learn tho, eh?)

A local friend is trying to see if they will fit in his project.  I'm waiting for results.

Don

Yup, I'm gonna take some snaps tonight since I've gotten some nibbles locally, too.

Once the snaps are done I'll try my luck at posting.

Went through that in '81.  The sound of those limbs giving way will never be forgotten.

We had city water and natural gas so we always had hot water for showers and gas for cooking, just did everything in the dark and cold!

Good news that no damage to home and hearth.

Rodder's Roundtable / New T-shirt design?

I like this version; no confusion about what the URL actually is.  Like the idea of a pocket tee.  Wonder about the cost of large print on the back with small crest on the front; will it be too expensive?  Yah, I know, who cares about expense, right?

I'd jump in for a pair of XXL tall, if we got 'em.

Well George, as an RVer of some note I must say the innovation is great; nice and streamlined for towing, ventilation, open air when you want it.

Just one observation, tho.  The lilttle red toilet might just give you some problems down the road, although "dumping" appears to be easy; just pick it up and shake it.  :D  Maybe a little more privacy, though.

Talk to you at work...

Welcome to the board Red.  We stop around your area on each trip to Midland...  Can't pass the Shephard Shell station without stopping, in either direction!

Great looking coupe ya got there, we'll be looking for it while on the road.

Let's all not forget that we got something else along with the UP copper and iron.  We got skeeters, too!

Quote from: "348tripower"What is the width on that GMC bench?
Don

Oooh, I should get a correct measurement but it is a stock seat from a 1948 GMC 1/2 ton.  When I measured the cab for the buckets I got, I got 54" at the rear door jams.  It has to be a couple inches shorter than that.

Hey all,

I finally got the bucket seats I wanted for my GMC pickemup so the like new original bench seat and frame are up for grabs.  The former owner recovered both seat and back with a nice gray tweed, professional looking job.  I've got the tubular frame (which I couldn't get to slide but the hardware appears to be all there - maybe some grease?), as well as the stamped riser to hide the lower mechanism.

This is complete and I am not putting any price on it.  If anyone is interested, George, aka, Purple Pickup is willing to try to haul it to the BBQ build, if you can arrange any further delivery.

I also have a center bench seat from an old Dodge minivan.  It is mounted on a Downs built support and it fits between the wheelwells of a Downs Vicky for a back seat.  The original upholstery is fawn colored and not in too bad shape.

It too is up for grabs.

DW will be very grateful if I can move these out.  She won't let me put 'em on the deck for summer lounging.

The latest Street Scene, covering the Nats North has a nice, albeit small, photo of our Denise and her topless cruizer!

We know a star!

Whenever we complained about the weather at Shephard AFB in Wichita Falls, the TIs always told us we could be in Amarillo!  Something about marching in ankle deep mud in a snowstorm...

Never got to experience it, thankfully.

The white stuff will soon be here.
