Used larry T's for my '38. Unfortunately he isn't in the business anymore. I approached him awhile back and he let me know he wasn't making crossmembers anymore. If you know differently please let me know. My son's '40 Chev will be in need of one and can't beat larry's price/quality wise.

I have a chance to purchase a 40 Plymouth Coupe in pretty nice condition.  I am looking for information on how to modify this car, and just how to construct a street rod in general.  I have some experience with muscle cars, but that seems to be a little different than a street rod.  My first step was obviously to start watching your forums here and reading your tech articles to pick up some hints.  Can you tell me any other places I should look for information?  Any magazines I should subscribe to?  Any books I should read?  Any other websites I should look at?  Possibly any organizations I should think about joining?

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance!

I got a Mustang II front end in my 36 Dodge. It works great except I have a lot of body roll. I have the stock Mustang II anti roll bar. I also have a 3/4" rear anti roll bar in the rear.  Do any of you guys know of a good larger diameter one from the junk yard. Ford Explorer, ect.
I would like to bolt it in place. Thanks in advance for help.

Rick, funny the stock sway bar didn't work for you. I used the stock MII bar on my '38 Dodge without a hitch. I don't use a rear anti-sway (as of yet) but experience next to nothing as far as roll is concerned......almost like it's on rails.

Got 'em last night

So I frantically made over the N49 T-Shirt page this morning.
The "shopping cart" stuff is paypal and seems to work OK, I've tweaked the checkout calculation so that it won't over charge shipping on multiples, I hope. Prices on the web page are in Canadian Dollars, which is round about 75 cents US

I'll also have them at the Salt and take mail orders the old fashioned way.

Could someone help me with float setting dimensions on a Ford 15/16 version of the Holley 94? I'm guessing this is a model 2100 for which the dry float setting is 1 9/32".  

Also, I need to run a vacuum line to my distributor from the carb. Can I do this with copper tubing and fittings from my local hardware store? This carb worked marginally on the original 2v manifold.

Am now trying to set up 3 deuces and seem to be having fuel problems. The ignition checks out fine... the engine turns over... starts briefly then seems to choke itself out. Am assuming a vacuum leak at the vacuum line.

The best way to set the floats on my 2110's was to have them "level" when upside down. The biggest problem I had was jetting. I run a tri-power set up, no power valves in the outboard carbs, center carb jetted at 48, outboards at 40 on a warmed over 350. The other tweaks were making sure all three carbs run the same with a "uni-sync", takes awhile to get it right but well worth it in the end. You also want to make sure you've got between 2 - 21/2 lbs of fuel preassure into those carbs, any more and they will leak like a sieve.

Thanks Dirk, but a far cry from being "proffesional". Made all the usual rookie mistakes on her. I have two piles of parts at home after the build. The "next project" pile....and The "Ummmmm....that didn't work" pile!

I am proud of her though. She's performing like a true champ, staying cool in the summer heat/bumper-to-bumper trafiic and showing very well.

Pep, after being out of it for so long (kids, mortgage and all) just knuckled down with my (now 13 yr old) and got her done. He's so torqued he's gone out and picked up his first project......'49 Chev Delux. Now.....just have to sneak it past momma and into the garage! My list of runs is so long I may never reach the end...but * sure die trying!

47, its a 2001 ford color. "Bright metalic Amber" is what they call it. I find it almost a cinnamon color.

Enjenjo, Thanks, Louisville is a "Tad Far" until I "feel her out" for a bit. Will take a 6 week cruise in her next year though and plan on hitting everything south of the boarder I can hit in the time frame.

After 2.5 years of thrashing, plenty of blood, sweat and guidance form members on this board the '38 hit the streets this weekend. Just HAD to grab some quick shots down at the park of her on her maiden voyage and thought I'd share. Still have to finish the interior, but she is "on the road"!!
