If you're desirous of a quality polyester filler; it's Rage -- period.  Sure, a gallon of Rage could cost close to what a case of Brand X could cost, but you'll save big on abrasives, it's way more pleasant to work with and as long as you do your part right, it'll last.  

Granted this is opinonated as it gets, but I have slung some mud in my daze and in fact; I've been a test-pilot for USC, but I won't elaborate on that unless by popular demand.  

Let's dig this hole deeper: Can anyone give me a name of ONE professional panel-pounder who actually uses that "All Metal" stuff for any reason other than perhaps pullin' some wool over a customer's eyes?  It really doesn't resemble metal once it's been sanded.  Why is it good?  If there's any real reason for using that type of product; please teach me something.

Humm -- it comes canned, with a tube of hardner, but it's "All Metal."  Ptttthhht!

I have to agree with RR.

Rage is the best I have used.
Rage Gold is great, but I switched to Rage Extreme some years ago. Yeah, it is pricy stuff. Rage Extreme sand easy, seldom pinholes, wears out less sandpaper and I have never had a shrinking problem with Rage.

Some time ago I used All Metal to fine tune the gaps on a twisted up Cobra body. All metal is a lot harder to sand than body filler so it was a lot more work. Probably the only gain was it looked better in photos and if it ever got chipped it would look like aluminum instead of filler.

I still do a little lead work once in a while.

Even during our last visit when he told me the doctors said he would see this Christmas but would make no guarantees after that ... he was smiling.
It was the one time I couldn't smile with him.

DC Waterjet is doing most of the chassis and the cage in return for me stretching and painting the "Z" Salt car.

Head towards the Speedway passing the Petro.
Drive past Caroll Shelby's exit and take the 2nd right.
The 4th building on the left is # 6947 with a blue stripe and the letter "S" in it.
Hang a left just after the building I am the 2nd and 3rd units.... 106 & 7.
Simple fare... burgers, hot dogs, chips & soda.
Just show up ... we'll feed ya!

That was some old advice on the stripping discs... you have a good memory!

I too use the newer scotch pads now. They come in lots of sizes including roll lock for the die grinder type tools.

I still use the 8" #40 & #80 paper on a soft pad on a slow speed grinder-polisher for stripping paint tho.

It showed that I will be born 2 weeks from Tuesday a year from now!

You are more than welcome ... now you can have your own wood bed floor and give us traction reports ;-)

When I was younger I had a few heifers in truck cabs with me ... a few cows in later years ... all two legged tho.
My trucks were all metal floors so I can't give you a traction comparison verses wood floors.

When I was in Idaho I worked on an early '80's long box, stepside Silverado that had a wood floor in the box. The rancher special ordered it to haul his horse around. Takes a well trained horse to get in a pick up even when you back into a ditch!

We will hook up next year for sure.

I know exactly what your saying. Last year I was given a dash plaque saying it was 25 years ago that I attended the first "Bonneville Cruise In" on the Salt!
That couldn't have been me ... I am too young to have been there ... way back then!

I saw you cruising in front of SoCal Friday nite and figured I'd run into you at the show over the weekend like I usually do .... but you must have went into hiding.

I don't know all the reasons pick ups used wood in the beds. But I do know of one.
Farmers used to hauled livestock with side boards or a stock rack in the stake holes. Animals hooves don't slip around on wood floors as much.
