Quote from: "junkyardjeff"Is it possible for a Edelbrock carb to have a internal vacumn leak,I was spraying carb cleaner and it seemed to have a intake leak but it did not improve after a new intake gasket. I thought it might had some dirt in it so I revved it up and stuffed a rag over the carb and now its worse so its something in the carb.
What intake manifold is your carb on? If it's on a quadrajet manifold you need the right adaptor.(Don't ask me how I know).

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: Help,I can't open the trunk
February 10, 2013, 10:00:58 AM
Quote from: "48ford"I can't get the trunk open on our ford.
Looking for ideas.
It is not locked
The handle turns just like always, but the trunk will not open.
I had Irene push on the trunk as I tried to pull on the handle but it's like the latch came apart.
Took the seat out but there is cross bracing built into the car,so we can't slide inside.
If I have to sacrifice the latch I can get a repop
Any one can help?
Please.
I said please
Russ
Here is a picture of a nos 41-48 ford latch notice that one side of the latch is tapered so it will ride up over then drop into a slot to latch the trunk lid. working from the rear seat area a long screw driver or simular type tool insert tool to lift the latch and open trunk. The key only locks the handel and will not cause your problem. Let us know your out come.

Quote from: "bucketmouth"Thanks guys for the info I'll take it all into account when we finalize the dates.
It could come down to if the GGs is gonna be at the start or the end of the trip.
Louisville will stay in the trip as my brother has never been before and it will blow him away just to see the sheer size of it.
And Charlie i'll come looking for you and the 974 on the salt when I get there. Hooley will be racing won't he?
Of all your plans do not miss Bonneville. Look for 1428 streamliner / roadster. Stop by and say Hi.
