Hi, my name is Gina and I'm Jim/river1's sister. I just wanted you to know that he had surgery today to remove his gall bladder. It was outpatient and he's recovering at home. Surgery was at 9:30 and he was out of the hospital by 11:30 or so. The surgeon said that he did well...the gall bladder was completely filled with gall stones. Said that it was typical for males as they are less likely to go to see a doctor.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know about the surgery. I'm sure he'll update himself when he's able to do so.
Gina
You admit to being his sister????
Seriously, he's a GREAT guy and we all love him dearly and will be pulling for him for a full and pain free as possible recovery.
We hope Jim has a full recovery from this.... 8) 8)
Hope he heals quick & painless..Glad that all went well... :D My condolences on being his sister.. :(

wow, jim get well,
Sum
Jim, I had mine out two years ago. The doctors told me two weeks off work but after 5 days I was feeling so good I painted my whole kitchen and a week after that I was laying hardwood flooring in my kitchen. You'll be up and about in no time....but don't tell work, use the time off to get stuff done on your car.

Yeah, paint it and put hardwood floors in it. Get well soon Jim!!
Lee
you can come over and paint my car... I like the rust bullet coating for the floor
Get well soon. Recovery time can be painful, the only thing on daytime tv is usually Oprah or Springer!
Take it easy at least for a few days then loaf around the rest of the time.
Charlie
Been there, done that.
Get well quick, more important things to be doing instead of watching the soaps.
Got a sister do you?
Lucky guy.
Me too.
I'm a lucky guy as well....
Isn't there easier ways to get a couple weeks holidays? 8)
Get better soon
Jeff
Jim, I had mine done in 97, never had any issues until that one time the pain hit. Never had anything hurt so bad in my life. Took about 3 weeks until all the anesthesa came out of my system, but other than that, I was up and running in a week. I can eat onions now, that I never could before, that is probably the only difference from then to now. Just don't be alarmed when you want to go to sleep in the early afternoon for a while, (if you wern't prone to naps before) that is just the anesthesia coming out.
Doug
Hey Jim, I know you've been on a diet but taking out parts is cheating.
Hope your recovery is without problems or pain. I was gonna say that you should take advantage of the situation and have someone wait on you, but I've met your room mates and I'd guess they're not the servant types. Enjoy daytime TV.
Jim
Congrat's on gettin' your rock off, er, out!
Enjoy your recovery!
Mike
Take it easy and rest big guy. Hope your better soon.
Those laproscopic surgeries save a lot of recovery time. You'll have a tool in your hand in no time (oh, come on now--I mean a wrench!) LOL!
Wow, they can remove a part of our "insides" on an outpatient basis? Wishing you a quick recovery, I have seen a little of that Oprah crap. Joe
Lets all hope Jim retains his rugged good looks
:D
Wife had that done during the Summer. Recovery from the actual surgery was speedy, but her digestive system was so out of wack by the time they figured out what was wrong it took quite a while before she could eat normally again. Hope you get well soon.
get well soon
wel you told me it was coming, glad to have got to hang out with you at the good guys run, get well , man with the walkin and the new slim rivers look , now some old parts gone, I think he is getting younger... think SALT,
What?

Glad to see everything came out allright...
Just don't laugh for a couple of days.

That's asking an awful lot from medical science... ~:)
I don't think the research has been done yet...
Jim, A speedy recover. How about a 250 mph recover, AH.
Hooley
Hey Jim, don't worry about those other 'smart guys' you can come over and do my stuff.
My '33 already has a hardwood floor and paint, so what are you like with upholstery and glass?
