To all the Vets :b-d:
Thanks to all who have served and to those who are sacrificing their lives presently to keep us safe---Grandson leaves for Afghanistan after holidays.
U.S. Army 69-71------God Bless
Our politically correct world slapped me today. I mentioned at work that I was going to the ceremony at the National Military Cemetery only a few miles down the road. HR said that it wouldn't be fair to the other employees for them to let me go. I told them I was going anyway and did. Other than that I heard no mention of Veteran's Day at work today. There are very few of us that are veterans. About half are imported employees from india, china, mideast and europe. Most of the rest are self absorbed, cut throat, career climbing, butt kissing yuppies.
Thanks and a big salute to all that have served and are serving our country.
good for you george on going anyway );b( );b( );b( );b(
if they push the issue get the media involved. just think of the bad PR for them, not letting a veteran go to a veteran's day ceremony.

They won't push it. That's the good part of being able to retire any day and not having a replacement...plus they know their position is wrong. We're the world HQ's and the global culture leaves a lot to be desired.
Can you add me/ U.S.M.C. 65-68, 1st. Marine Div. Thanks, Skip
I'm proud of ya George.
Sharon and I were in Sam's club yesterday morning and they were having a Veterans ceremony in the cafeteria. I thanked the manager.

I volunteered "back in the day", but they found me "phyisically unfit to serve"......
Bob.............
You can add me also.
US Army, 1969-1971, Vietnam.
In canada we call it remembrance day and it is a national holiday. All schools have a ceremony on the last day of school before the holiday.I have never served but certainly appreciate the efforts of those who have.
Thanks to all that have and all that do.
When in high school and looking at one of the acadamies, my grandfather told me that "he marched from Normandy to Austria so no grandson of his would have to." Kind of put an end to that conversation.
My wife knits Socks for Soldiers. She makes beanie hats for under thier helmets and regulation wool socks. They go to Ohio for coordination and then off to all of the branches. If anyone out there knows kintters with time and desire, have them contact SFS and do what they can.
Thanks all you guys (and gals) for keeping us safe.
