My street rod has been selected as one of the final 50 from a total of 300 cars submitted for radio station 97X Classic Music's (Quad Cities) Classic Car Calendar. So, I am asking for your vote. The final 12 for the calendar are being selected this week by the general public who go to the radio station's website and vote. One vote per computer--if you have a computer at work and a computer at home, you can vote twice. The website for the Dwyer and Michael's show is posted below. Simply click on Classic Car Calendar Voting. My car is the yellow '32 Ford Coupe which is the 8th one down in the first column. I think I should win on photography skill alone, but . . . You can vote for twelve or just one (mine!).

I think they are supposed to announce the winning twelve sometime the week of the 17th. I will let you know the results as soon as I hear something.

I just found out this morning that I was not one of the final twelve. The finalists are posted on the website in case anyone is interested. Some nice cars, some pretty lousy photography. Oh well . . . no big deal really. I wouldn't trade my deuce for any of them. Thanks to everyone who voted for me. I appreciate it.

I have to agree about lousy photography. Lots of cluttered backgounds and trees growing out of the roofs.

'Just went to the website for this and I'm not surprised.  It's another demonstration of the dismal science of demographics.  Most of the finalists are muscle cars.  The folks that listen to that radio station are probably in their late 30's and they voted for the cars that they identify with.  They grew up in the muscle car era and therefore have no frame of reference to our older (much cooler) cars.  Nice looking Deuce by the way.  And time marches on...

Just looked at the finalist and as phat rat said i counted 8 of the 12 have trees in a not so cool location. Maybe they will photo shop the final.
