Gas price that is....We have $2.85 a gal. here how is everyone else doing? Just a month ago it was about $4.16 here
I filled my van up last night for $2.94 in Plainwell, just south of Grand Rapids.
I noticed that traffic on the highway was running a lot faster this weekend compared to a month ago. Unfortunately, I think cheaper gas makes our driving habits more wasteful.
$2.75 in Stugis Michigan on the way home from the PileUp.
Last Friday when I filled up $3.35 was the best I saw. Boy, $2.75 in MI, what a bargain. Looks like we've been well trained that anything under $3.00 is a real deal.
Lee
$2.559 in Sylvania Ohio yesterday.
3.55 yesterday in hollywood...
$3.00 in the town that I'm moving to, still $3.09 where I'm moving from.
Denise...saw you heading west on I-80 Friday afternoon around 5:20 near New Lennox, IL. I was heading east towards Chicago, plus the I-80 'parking lot'....traffic always comes to a standstill.
3.25 here.
heard it's way higher on the western slpoe
I paid 2.99 in Pueblo saturday. Here in my little corner of the earth, it's still 3.04.
You guys are doing pretty well. Up here in the corner of the lower 48 we're in the $3.40-50 range. I'll be in Vegas tomorrow, we'll see what it looks like there. I suspect part of the difference is our legislature gave itself the ability to raise fuel taxes at will, so since folks were used to higher prices recently this is a good time to sneak more taxes in.
Enjoy while you can. After the election the ban on drilling will be reimposed, more resources will be diverted to "alternatives" that nobody knows will ever pan out, much less how soon. World economies will rebound, demand rise again, and oil prices will follow. Not really hard to predict, just a reminder.
$2.66 here in Des Moineez.
As I posted before $3.35 last Friday, $3.17 at the same place this afternoon.

$2.88 in Southern Illinois
Just wondered if diesel is following gas prices down. That's what will help prices for everything else we buy.
Lee
We're still around 3.30 in middle Tn. I've heard it's a little lower in Ky., should help anyone coming to GG Bowling Green next weekend.

The Government email I get every week has been delayed a day due to Columbus Day, but as of last Monday the national average was $3.875. That's down from $4.764 on 7/14. It's worth noting that in July the price differential between Gas and Diesel was at an all time high. Normally the highest differential for the year is during the heating months because so much of the Northeast heats with oil. Could it be the oil companies realized that if Gas went higher they'd pay heck in the court of public opinion, but they figured they were safe to jack up the Diesel price?
For those keeping score, Vegas is around $3.20
1.129/L here. 3.98Lto a US gallon I think.
costco a mile from the house-$3.06

$1.40ish a leter a month ago and its the same now, the crude oil price droped and the AU doller fell through the floor at the same time, or atleast thats what the oil companys will have us beleive
It is $1.50 a litre which is 5 litres to 1 gallon so that is $7.50 a gallon and your crying at $4.00 a gallon I WISH.....Lindsay

This week's national average is down $.216/gal to $3.659. It's trending downward but not as quickly as gasoline. And you're right, that will at least keep prices for everything else we buy from going up as quickly.
correction... it was 445.... it is now 3.69... still high...
but much better... it was the higher price 2 days ago...

It was $4.18/gal here a couple days after the last hurricane (Ike). It has been dropping steadily, and went down $.19 this morning to $2.93. I thought I'd never see sub-$3 gas ever again. The problem is that my retirement funds are dropping even faster.

That would be nice and may be a possibility. I have said all along that gas shouldn't be over $2.50 a gal. The one thing we have going for us is the adversity in the mid east. Back stabbing is a way of life there and any agreement they come too in regards to price setting and pumping volumne always falls part rather quickly. Now if we can keep the oil prices falling and get the stockmarket rising life will be better. My wife has Friday off and I'm retired now (I just like to keep saying that) so with the price of gas lower now we are planning on just taking a drive like we used to. The fall colors are peaking here and it's been a few years since we've done a color tour.
BTW gas here is like a yo-yo. But it's at $2.82 at some stations; I've seen the same station with three different prices in about eight hours. at one staion we go by we have twice seen a gal out front with binoculars looking up the road at the next staion to check prices!!!
Paid 3.00 for regular gasoline...
diesel has been 3.32 a gallon recently
:T)
I bought gas yesterday at a Casey's general store for $2.799. It's on the way to the new place I'm moving into. The town where I'm moving to is still $2.889, but diesel is $3.50.
We went for a fall color tour on Friday and filled up at $2.77 a gal. here. Of course when we stopped in little town about 30 miles from here it was......$2.69...!!! At this rate they'll be giving it away soon!
Got regular for @2.729 on the way back from the antique meet in Lakeland, FL yesterday. Still not quite that low here close to home.

Hi Lee,
We follow diesel prices online because we transport cars and we often plan routes according to fuel prices. It has come down below $3.35 from $4.15 a month ago. All this crap about it being tied to the election is BS. It has to do with demand, the commodities market and the strength of the US dollar. It probably will go up again and it will probably be after the election. If the economy stays down the fuel prices will probably also stay lower. I wouldn't count on retailers to pass on the savings unless they get real desperate.
Later...
Gas is $2.54 about 10 miles from me but locally, I just filled up at $2.95. The delivery tanker pulled in as I was pulling out so suspect that it will go down some more today(dammit). At least most of my gas is being paid for "by others" for a while.
Sure am glad I passed on that diesel version of my F350 and bought the V10 instead as that fuel is still over $4.00 a gallon and the 6.0 and 6.4 Power Stoke Fords aren't doing much better mileage wise then my monster. I don't need that much engine 90% of the time either (nor even what I have)

In Melbourne Australia. Yesterday paid $1.52 per litre for premium unleaded[4.55 litres =1 Imperial gallon]. We are being fleeced. A barrel of oil is down to around half of what it was,and our dollar fell around 25-30% . The pump price is not reflecting any of this change, despite all the "watching"our Gummint has done. Let,s see if the new highly salaried "petrol commissioner" does anything, his predecesser threw in the towel. That,s right in case you guys in the States are scratching your heads. We actually have someone on the Gummint payroll who gets paid to tell us what we already know. This guy would be also insulated ,because he would have a Gummint vehicle, and use a taxpayer funded petrol card for purchases     ... Frank.
$2.35 in Findley OH on Monday on the way back from GG Bowling Green.
On my way back from Jacksonville Fl. Monday I saw regular from $2.39 to $2.99. Kind of funny because the high and low were both in Ga. When I went down there on the 7th & 8th the lowest I saw was $3.15. When I talked with my son in Jacksonville Mon evening he said the station by him had dropped $.17 that day

That's what my wife and I did last weekend. Filled the her car with gas and drove a couple hours "up north" stopped at all the antique places and had lunch and looked at all the fall colors. It's been something we like to do once in a while and we hadn't done for many months. Cost a whloe $12 in gas!

Still 2.54 here. Must be better to cost more.
Just to make some of you feel better; off brands were 2.79, branded 2.89 yesterday here in Vegas
Regular is 2.73/gal here in Sacramento today. What I find really strange is, I went for a 6500 mile motorbike ride in Sept. I went through 16 states and bought gas in every one (I could only manage a bit over a hunnert miles on a tank, which was fine with my rear end). When I left here gas was 3.48/gal, that was the cheapest I saw during the whole trip. The most I paid was in east St Louie 4.39/gal. It ran between 3.69 and 4.10 everywhere else, even in the middle of nowheresville Az/Nv/Or/Id/Co/Ok. When I got back it was in the three nineties here, just seemed a little strange to me. Everybody said it was because of hurricane Ike but I think it was because "they" knew I was gonna be buying gas outside of California. Jbird 8)

My wife filled our mini van today here in town for $1.89 gallon. I just talked to Sumner and he said the station across the street from him(southern Utah) just dropped under $3 a gallon. The other day he said it was still $3.39.
On a related note I bought another car to strip just the other day before I checked the price of scrap steel. What they were paying nearly $200 a ton for this last summer is now $10 a ton. I will not make any money on this one.

hey all, down to 100.9/L here today. 3.78L/US gal.The gas stations are claiming it takes 90 days for the old priced gas to get used up before the price can go down! What a load of hooey. If that were true we should just be starting to see the price increases from all this summer's oil price increases!Provincial govt. makes a lot of revenue in gas tax so they will likely take a while before "looking into" why fuel prices are so slow to respond to a drop in oil prices.Since fuel got as high as 148.9/L here this summer one should logically expect the price to go down to 75.9/L since oil is at half of this summers price!I doubt we will see that.We are also experiencing a "diesel shortage" around here ,truckers are worried about rationing.

As of today ours is $1.07 / liter, so about $4.28 for on of our gallons, which is slightly bigger than a US one. Mind you, that's way out here on Vancouver Island on the west coast............where we pay more than the rest of Canada for some ^%$% reason!

Here in beautiful Lebanon Tn it's 1.85 today. Glasgow Ky is usually quite a bit cheaper if you're coming thru there on your next adventure.
I had to laugh last weekend. I was on my way up north and went by a gas station where a guy was filling a huge tank setting in the back of his Tahoe. Out on the ground there were a bunch of red 6 gallon gas cans. Almost all fall this particular station has had the lowest prices of any I saw on my trips to the cabin.
For some reason last Thursday the price took a hike to $1.94. I could be wrong but it looked like he was stocking up before the price went higher. Funny part was that on the way home Sunday I stopped and filled up at the same station for $1.67.
I guess I shouldn't laugh too hard since I've got some cans full of gas that I probably paid well over $2.50 for. :?
$1.76 here on my end of town. Oct.7 when I left for Fl the cheapest I saw on the way down was $4.17 and that was just east of Indy.
I saw $1.99 down here the other day. I think I heard on the radio today that oil was in the 40 something a barrel range, and that gas should go down to around $1.50 per. Thinking of draining the pool and filling it with cheap gas. But then I couldn't fire up the BBQ grill in the back yard.

I took a look but it appears there isn't any new information on the site since July and no information at all as to where might find a participating station in any areas. The Golden Eagle grocery store chain is tied to the Get Go gas stations. They give a discount on gas figured on your grocery purchesses and the other day our discount had reached $1.35 a gallon. They only allow yoy to purchase 30 gallons on that deal so I gathered up my gas cans and Linda and I planned to make our "killing". She went out shopping today and called me so we could meet at the station. When I got there I was surprised that their gas was only $1.81 a gallon but when she showed up part of her shopping had been groceries. She had run the discount up to $1.50. (three miles) I went to N.Carolina for Thanksgiving and we filled up at a small station in W. Virginia. My wife was puyying in the gas while i was visiting the restroom. When i came out she asked me to moved the car ahead because there was a problem with the pump. I looked at the pump and it shower $18 on it. i thought it had quit working before she was done filling the tank. In the high $1.70s down here. Denise, how did you make out with your, ah the Big Old's rear end? To bad you didn't make Daytona.
Lee
The rear was fixed at the shop that it was towed to. New posi carrier, ring and pinion, all new bearings and seals. I really, really trust the shop and owner Dave. He told me that the rear will last longer then the rest of Big Olds so I'm very confident.
I received a refund check for the full amount that DTS charged me for rear work in Sept PLUS the full amount for repairs for the damage done to my hood while the car was in their care. My refund from DTS for the repairs did not cover the complete cost of repairs at Quality Machine in Dayton BUT there was no way I was letting DTS tow my car back to Detroit and fix it themselves (which by law in Michigan is their right) so when they agreed to refund me my money I didn't push my luck asking for more to cover the additional expenses.
I got a ride down to Dayton, OH last Saturday and then drove Big Olds to Nashville, TN and flew home from there. Big Olds is getting some touch up paint work done, Vintage air/heat/defrost installed and a drop down panel under the dash. I'll head down every couple of weeks to help with the process and will then pick him up in the spring once it's safe to drive him home without the threat of icy roads.

Filled up for $1.37 in Plainwell yesterday. Might have to come up with a road trip.
Filled the wife's ricer yesterday. It stopped at $14.00 so I restart and it stopped again. Took another pull before I realized it was full! Not long ago it was $40.00. It's a Christmas bonus.
It's at 1.68 up here in the northern parts. That's a little higher than most of the state..........but it hasn't been that low since 2004.

GAS WAR !!! 1.29 in Phenix City , AL
I love gas wars !!!
on friday december 26 I paid 1.45 a gallon for regular gasoline... 19+ gallons at 29.00 dollars
went up to 1.58 first part of the week--then down to 1.49 again yesterday.
Did a 130Km [approx 80miles] return trip yesterday to return two of my grandkids to my son. Instead of using the Mustang which takes premium at $1.40 per litre[4.55 litres to an Aussie gallon]. We used my wifes 6 cyl Commodore that runs dedicated LPG [or propane as I understand called in the US.] This was 39.5 Cents per litre..........Frank.

hi.... actually the gas is called LPG or Propane here... it seems the BBQ uses propane and the car gets LPG.
We also have vehicles that run the natural gas. A buddy of mine has a f-250 Ford that uses natural gas besides gasoline.
8)
Hi Tony. Same reference here, I guess the earlier read ups I have done from a US website referred to the particular LPG vehicle as running on propane, and the perception stuck. The tanks photograghed also looked like what we use on forklifts or domestic tanks for areas that are not serviced by Natural Gas. We have more rodders using LPG now, not only is the cost benefit, but we have some rules regarding engine swaps . If you fit later engines, then the vehicle has to conform to the emission standard applicable to the engine year of mfg. If you run straight LPG, and fling all the gasolene related bits, like tank fuel pump lines etc. then you have an engine bay looking more 1960,s without all the emission control plumbing and hang on crap and have what is regarded as a cleaner vehicle.. At the moment the Gummint is giving a $2000 rebate to motorists who convert to LPG also ,you as an individual can claim one rebate in a 3 yr period.......Frank.

We have a mandated, red "LP Gas" sticker about an inch square for the back and front plates, this obviously assists emergency svces, should there be a collision ,I guess. The other requirement is that since about 1993, all new LPG installs have a compliance plate ,the fitment is considered a modification requiring licenced fitters. Some do their own and get it inspected/signed off/complianced. My last 3 I did this way, paid for inspection, and they fitted the compliance plate . Dumb if you d,ont as your insurance would be affected.........Frank.

Same here in Aridzona... the various Fire Depts wanted ALT fuel plates on the vehicles so they would know of the high pressure tanks under them..
We had a fiasco of laws here in 2000 - 2001 where the elected officials mis-worded some legislation. The state of Arizona was paying a large some of cash for each new vehicle that was built ALT fuel by the OEM manufacturer or a conversion to ALT fuel.. That cost the tax payers many hundreds of millions of dollars before the law was fixed / ALTered.

1.79 in charleston wv monday.. Gas was more all the way up 77 it seemed like...

Filled at $4.62 a gallon last night in Germany. Still near $2 cheaper, per gallon, than before the prices went down.

Just filled up for $1.79 at Sam's Club. About 20 cents higher than a few weeks ago. By the way the Hess station and a few others were the same as Sam's. What happened to the Warehouse Club deal?
Lee
Sam's is cheaper about half the time...usually in the late day or early nextmorning after everyone else went up the day before. $1.54 to 1.99 in 5 days...that's a good bump. If futures drop that much in the next 5 days I'll wager gas won't go back down 45 cents.

1.60 a gallon for regular gasoline tonight = Costco ... today the price I saw on diesel was 2.38 a gallon
$1.05/L that would make us $4.70/g today
Quote from: "bucketmouth"$1.05/L that would make us $4.70/g today
Actually to compare it to US gallons you would need to multiply your price by 3.78 as a US gallon is 3.78 liters. So it would be $3.969 per gallon not that this price is much better.
Yep your right it's 4 1/2 L to our old gal but 4 to your gal.
Unfortunately I'm old school and now we've gone metric I have to convert everything.

hi,
$2.18 usd for diesel fuel this afternoon.... 42.1 mpg average on this tank

It's $1.859 here today. On Weds. I drove down to see Enjenjo and went on down to Findlay OH. where I got gas for $1.609.
Just got home, here in Findlay. It's $1.95 at most stations. Good thing I filled up early in the week at $1.65.
We went from 1.42 to 1.87 in 2 weeks a couple of months ago, and that is where it is staying. Diesel is dropping though, not that it helps me.

I'm glad I went down on Weds. The Swifty Gas on Trenton over by the University was $1.609 and they would pump it for you if you wanted. The sign said $1.659, with 5 cents off for cash.
I paid 1.92 a gallon for regular gasoline 2 weeks ago. today I paid 1.84 a gallon.
It's 2.09 here.
Paid 1.60 a gallon for regular this morning... at Costco station. Other stations in the area are at 1.79 - 1.81 a gallon.
Diesel was at 2.19 on monday afternoon at a local Circle K
Just went up here to about $2.07 gal. Jumped 12-14 cents overnight. A lot of our price woes around here come from the fact that we're right on the border with Canada. Even when our gas is priced higher than surrounding areas It's still cheaper than over the bridge in Canada.
Running just over $2.00 per gallon here in Kingman, Arizona.
I note that oil went down to $45. per barrel a couple of days back.
Just under $2.00 a gallon here.
Well, It's back up to $2.69/gal here, May 28. I thought the jump right before Memorial day would be temporay! :(
got it for 2.52 here in akron today :)
Hi,
paid $2.25 for diesel tonight... The Jetta averaged 42.7 mpg this tank. 565 miles on the tank.
regular gasoline was at 2.30 a gallon. Unusual for the diesel to be lower than regular.
In a couple weeks we went from $2.28 to $2.68 today.
$2.05 in Vicksburg, MS now.
$1.91 per gallon at Bullhead City, Arizona about a week and a half back.
$2.05 same day at Kingman, Arizona.
Yesterday - $2.35 to $2.39 in Kingman.

regular gasoline was at $2.35 a gallon
very unusual that AZ gasoline is lower than other places cept Callieffornia.
Diesel is still lower than regular grade gasoline.
Our's jumped to $2.89 today. I paid 2.74 in Indiana tho. Heading up to northern mich tomorrow and I see that it's only 2.63 up there. That's unusual. It's usually more up there. ....and my oil stocks fell big time today. I dunno....

But the news today is that the market is up because oil is up. Seems to me like gas is about 30% higher compared to oil than it was last year....

$2.96 this morning. Third bump in a week I believe. So, we have $66/barrel oit and $3 gas, so when oil hits $30 again we'll have $6 gas????

i paid $2.83 today. We don't have much competition here.
Last weekend I paid $2.89 for gas to go to "Build Day". It was somewhat cheaper when I got out of time but not much. It must be more expensive here because they want to get one last shot at you before you leave. We have a grocery store in town that is part of a chain that has gas pumps that are discounted by the amount of purchases you make at the store. When you cash in your points the price per gallon is discounted but you are limited to a 30 gallon purchase. Lately we have been cashing in when we get about $1.40 off a gallon. When that happens we fill up the family car, fill up the truck and put any that might be left in gas cans for the lawnmower. One time when gas prices were low and we had had a bunch of relatives come to stay we had enough points to get the 30 gallons FREE. GPster

LPG is 54.9 cpl near me Rog.
The petrol price I do not get.
A barrel of oil is around $82. Our dollar is worth around 98c US.
Yet the pEtrol prices are not far away from what they were in 07 when a barrel of oil was around the $140 mark and our dollar 84/85c US.
Someone is creaming somewhere.
The outlets are now being gobbled by two supermarket chains who offer fuel discounts of 4c per litre on presentation of shopper dockets from their supermarkets.
I smile when I watch the gullible fumbling for their dockets for this.
First up they inflate the fuel price from what it should be.
Then give the impression that they are helping you "save" by shopping in their food markets.
So a 60 litre fill gives a "discount " of $2.80 Wow,.
The joke is that by just shopping in their supermarket, you paid a lot more for the goods than if you purchased wisely elsewhere.
And this could be $30 on a trolley load.
My wife and I shop between two different supermarkets [IGA and ALDI] and local small business greengrocers for fruit and Veges and these are within a 3km radius of home.
Only time I grab something from the big chains is for an attractive special. And I mean a better price than I would normally get.
One of the big chains had Rump Steak at $11 per kilo advertised in catalogue giving a "saving of $12 over regular price". As Gomer Pyle would say "Gollee".
I go to a market once a month and buy meat for a month. I can tell you that Rump goes for $18 for two kilos.
We are being fleeced no end.

'Servo" is an Aussie word for a petrol station [gas station].
This would have been derived from the old term "service station".

Most here would be familiar with American terminology from the amount of TV shows we have from the US.
A lot of ours would be largely unknown, including terminology that can be meant as endearment ,like calling a mate a "silly bastard".
To a non Aussie this would be insulting.

While on the subject of slang back in '08 when I was in the U.S. we went into a restaurant on the west coast for a steak, little did we know it was an aussie themed place. Apparently there's a chain of these places called the Outback.
During the night my buddy Rob asked a very confused waiter where the dunnies were. The guy had no idea so I said the restroom and he pointed to them.
Rob said back in Oz we call the ladies Sheilas and the men the Blokes.
He thought that was amusing and said he would pass it onto management.
Last year we're sitting in an Outback restaurant in Louisville when my buddy Nev come back from the loo and said you should see all them people not knowing which restroom to go in.
I said why what's the problem and he replied they're called the Sheilas and Blokes.
I just about fell of my chair in surprise and told my friends about the year before.
Just re reading that the dunny and loo are also slang for restroom.
St. Louis
2.52 a gal yesterday
2.79 a gal today
Assume the position!
Muskegon: $2.72 yesterday
$2.95 today
We dropped to $2.64 several days ago. That's really unusual for us, as the prices here are usually higher than the surrounding areas due to Canadians coming over to buy or reletively cheap gas. Last i heard it was about $1.05 per litre across the river, now that the Canadian dollar is at par it's a real bargain here!!!
Been at $2.63 for regular here for a week or so.
Just went out today and filled up my Chrysler with 91 octane at $2.83 for a total of $42 and change.
Just went, overnight, from $2.64 to $2.95.....
paid 3.00 for diesel via a discount with local Frys food store. 10 cents discount from 3.10 a gallon
May be a similar thing like Gypster mentioned week or 2 ago. Spend over set dollar amount and receive discount at store pumps
paid 3.30 a gallon for diesel tonight... that is 20 cents increase in 1 week
$2.999 today in northwest Las Vegas, 87 octane. Someone said it will be four bucks by Christmas; I sure hope not, it cost me $67 to fill up my truck today.
$3.05-9/10ths today for regular. Since it's happening on a Sunday I would call this a "because they can" increase as opposed to some emir or other potentate with a serious airplane or yacht payment due today.

Samr thing on this side of the state Charlie. I found a station that was "only" $3.03 and stuck my card in the machime, the price then jumps to $3.11....pumped a gallon so I could make it to a station that doesn't screw you for using a card.... :x

The station I use most of the time, if I can, gives a nickle break on "their brand" card purchases and cash; debits and other credit cards pay higher. I wonder how much longer that's going to last.

Heh, heh, it appears Global Warming is causing the latest rising gas prices.
Report that an early cold snap around northern climes is causing more heating oil to be used than has been estimated. And of course an early cold snap is caused by Global Warming.

While in the Air Force, we used only distilled water and antifreeze in our diesels and the radiators never had that crud buildup that regular H2O had with all it's minerals etc. I still mix my antifreeze for my own vehicles, but I pay a buck a gallon at the grocery store. Same stuff my wife uses in her steam iron. Tom...
In the summer I dump a couple gallons of distilled water a day out of my portable dehumidifier. I should bottle some up and save it for mixing with antifreeze.

Man, talk about a gyp; that's almost a five hundred percent markup, probably more considering they likely get it in bulk, or do they just get it out of the hose and say it's the real deal?.
Tom36 is right on about the cost; about a buck a gallon, +/- in the grocery store.
I haven't been out in a couple of days, don't know what the gas situation is here.
Up here in Victoria BC Canada it's 1.129 / liter so $4.51 for a BIG gallon. Supposedly going up pretty quick though.

Wow! .....That's $ 4.27 per US gallon!
I guess there are lots of taxes added on in your country/province.
LOL BIGTIME.......tell me about it!!! Taxes in Canada are REALLY bad and now with the HST here in BC it's unbelievable! Taxes hit an incredible high in BC last July with the new $#$%^ "harmonized sales tax" so people are just stopping a LOT of things. It's so bad that yesterday they said that it's estimated that up to 20% of bars and restraunts will shut in the new year. Oh, on top of that the $#$% brought in new DWI laws - at .05 they can suspend your licence right at the roadblock, impound your car, and it could cost you a few thousand dollars by the time you're done! BC is NOT a good place to live anymore!
Diesel was 3.20 a gallon still.... MPG on the Jetta hit 46mpg this tank full
