Title: Norwalk raceway opened last night(it was cold)
Post by: 48ford on May 01, 2008, 03:00:49 PM
I trailed my son Tim's car down last night for the first night of racing at Norwalk(now summit motor park)
Summit paved the pit area and that is nice.
They changed the classes and so Tim got put out quick. You can't run stock without mufflers(so no cut outs) and no slicks.moving him into modified.
I think I raised a misfit.
He has a monarch(granada) with a 351 and 5 speed, but he was talking"tuner talk"with his pals all night, somthing about turbos, chips, slicks on the wrong end of the car, fuel injection,
I'm amazed at what these little neons run(and only 4 cylinders) and the boys drive them  to the track, and home again.
I'm feeling old again.
But a good night with my son.

I had an old fart moment regarding tuner cars . As I walked past a car in the staging lanes I came up to the buckled in driver to tell him that his front tire was low. Just as I was about to tell him I realised  how dumb  that would be. Tuner FWD ! I let him know anyways ,we had a laugh.
