Hi Fellas im new here(ist post ) and id like to introduce myself. Im 55 yrs old and have just finished a complete resto on a 62 galaxie xl 500. I did all the bodywork and rebuilt the 390 fe. I farmed out the tranny rebuild. My next project is a 54 merc monterey 2 dr ht that i found on a farm in Kansas. I plan on putting in a sbf and c4 or c6 tranny and mildly kustomize it. im sure i will have questions as i proceed. Thanks Mike
Welcome.

Welcome. My third car was a 62 500xl, 390 - 4 speed, red on red. Back when it wasn't very old. Sure was hard to keep a girl on the console when you stood on the gas.
Welcome to the RRT, Mike. Post a few photos--we are a curious group.

Welcome Mike, it's good to hear you do most of your own wrenching, that you're planning to keep the `54 project all FoMoCo and that it will be a mild custom - `54 Merc HT's are so sweet just as they came.
I see your in Jackson, NJ. Before transplanting to the PA boondocks back in the 80's I was a Freehold native son.
