Post by: oiler on August 20, 2007, 02:21:30 PM
Just wondering if anyone has installed one of these?
I've got a guy that wants me to put one in a 93 Truck for him
Pros Cons ?
Thanks all

i've had to work on a couple....i'm not impressed......
open loop system (uses it's own puter AND DON'T LOOSE THE BOOK OR THE LITTLE PLUG-IN diagnostic connecter/switch!)
they use an fittings on the fuel lines too.
nothing you can't handle but.......

if it were me, i'd go with a 95-99 vortec....

They have put a number of them in out at the shop where I hang out, no significant problems that cannot be overcome.

Heard from several guys they are not emissions friendly and I read it in one of the rod magazines.

Understand the latest versions are closed loop and have an improved controller.

The fater of one of the body men at the hot rod shop I hang out at has one in an oler Chevy truck.  And he likes it.

the Ramjet 350 is based on the 350 Vortec motor but has the cooler EFI intake that was designed to resemble the Rochester fuelie vette setup. comes with a mild cam ground on a 109 lobe center so it has a slight lope. I have one on the stand in the garage that we pieced together and will be using a FAST efi controler instead of the GM MEFI-4 controller. the fast ecu makes it easier to tune and has a wideband 02 .

350 vortecs didnt come out till 96 btw
