Im planning the assault on the roadster for after the 4th of july but if i decided i needed another play toy what would you BUY :?: :?: :?: The only stipulation is its got to be a seller and a money maker...... 8) Something to play with for the summer then off at Kzoo (even if I gotta do it in the swap meet)

I've had a Miata before and really enjoyed it BUT, sometimes the selling is real tough, especially at the end of the season. My only other thought is a dual sport bike such as a DR 650 or a KLR 650. If you buy a used one they're not too much money and if you like to ride everywhere, it would be a good way to pass some time when you don't want to work on the roadster.

If I'd have known about this last month.
A guy I work with , bought a "06" H-D Superglide (new), and never
rode it. I seen him on 1 poker run. I think that was about the only time
he rode it.
Anyway, his life plan changed big time. He changed jobs, and sold
the Glide for 10K. At least that's what I heard he was asking . Maybe
it sold for even less. I know it was gone in one week.
Deals are out there.
Later.....
Dave,
This 38 Ford is for sale up here in northern Michigan. Not sure if its your cup of tea, but its for sale none the less.
Mike
You could buy a running '32 Ford closed car and put your roadster body on it for the summer. Then in the fall you could offer it in pieces (closed body/running chassis with road miles) by then you'd have time to get the roadster frame ready for it's body. I don't think bikes will sell well at Kalamazoo plus fall would be a better time to buy a bike right. Remember that you will be short of storage space this winter. GPster

Maybe I have been spending too much time over on the HAMB board but..... it sure seems that the "Traditional" hot rod is very, very much in demand. Not sure if it is a passing fad, or long term.
IF it were me, and I had your experiences, skills I would lean toward the Rat Rod world, buy something inexpensive.... do some fixes, changes that will get some interest and flip it., to some dopey Gold Chainer like me in the fall.
I would not go the Roadster route, more the gasser, Kustom.
Something like this....

Dave to be clear, finish the roadster you are working on, my comment about "not going the roadster route" had to do with the temporary "flip" car.
I think, and boy am I talking with no experience here, that a full bodied car will have a larger potential buying audience than a roadster. So from a re-sale perspective, it might be a good idea to go that route.
Again, I am sure there are folks on this board that can bring more wisdom to the roadster vs. full bodied car debate.
