I have a 46 Dodge 1/2 ton and am putting disk brakes on the front. I have a set of rotors and calipers from a 76 Volare. The problem is that the rotor hits against the spindle before the inside bearing bottoms out. I'm wondering what could be done for a spacer or if something else would be better. Thanks. Erick
I just did a 36 Plymouth, similar setup. I used the stock hub. You can find it here http://www.roddingroundtable.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6985 I used GM rotors, but you may be able to use Concord rotors.
Are Concord disc brake rotors still readily available?

Thanks for all of the great info. Not a lot of people in my area to talk to about these kinds of things and this site has helped a lot. I'm thinking of putting together a setup like the one in the link Enjenjo shared. I would like to get away from the lug bolts and use the lug nut setup instead. I think the 36 Plym is setup with right hand threads, but my hubs have left handed threads. The left front hub has three right hand and two left hand threads. I don't know if this was factory or if someone had changed it? Enjenjo, did you change out the master cylinder when changing to disks? What did you use for a proportioning valve? Right side hubs have a right hand thread, use two right hand hubs. I used 2 1/2" allen bolts locktited in place for lug bolts.
On the 36, I installed a hanging pedal from a 70s F100, a Jeep Cherokee booster, and an 80s Dodge Caravan master cylinder, with a S10 combo valve.
Thanks for the info. I found a couple right side hubs earlier this morning. Hopefully be able to start going at it here shortly.

I changed the hubs on a '48 Dodge truck to studs once. Dorman listed press-in replacement studs with a drill size for the knurled end and I just drilled out the threads (LH or RH) with the appropiate drill and pressed the replacement studs in. Certainly is easier than trying to remember what side of the truck you're on in the dark when you have to change a flat. GPster
