Your doing a fine job introducing your selves but how bout a little more :?: How did you find the board why did you sign on :?: Ya im curious (or nosey if you want) And if its none of my or our business thats cool too. Me ive been here since fatcat and enjenjo started the place under thier command but i think I was about #2 or#3 on the origonal board way back when. I was also early in the game on the hamb board but i didnt hit that again until about a year or so ago. Got a little more time on my hands now and the cable makes surfing a lot easier also. Thats my story and im sticking to it.

I found this board through the web ring. I have been building cars for a long time. It's all I have ever done and I'm getting to be an old guy so thats quite a while. I have been focused on T buckets the last few years and I am trying to break out and start doing some other things again.
We hosted the T-Bucket Nationals in Mountain Home Ar the past 2 years and are hosting a T only event in Mountain Home AR again this next July.

I found this place through the HAMB. I have already noticed a few others that also spend time over there.
The other day on the hamb I started a thread asking some of the guys what other web sites they visit regularly(my way of being nosey too). This place was one of them. I enjoy all kinds of hot rods, not just the traditional kind that the hamb preaches. So this place seems like a kool place to hang out as well.

This is the guy I thought CARNUT was, as that's his handle over on the other board

You are correct, on the hamb I go by car-nut. You may not remember but you and I met in Burlington a few years ago. We were parked next to each other in front on the exhibit building. I LOVE the chop on your car so much that after that weekend I really considered chopping my car. My wife stopped me dead in my tracks though. One of her favorite things about my car is that it retains all of it's original trim and hasn't been cut up. She let's me get away with an aweful lot so I didn't push her to hard on the chop. [/u]

Hey Daveysan, you've been on the board that long? I was one of the original 10 back in late `93/early`94 when Cary started it up :D . If I had known that, I would've started on you years ago... :!: :!:
Unlike that newbie wool hugger in Armadillo who still shows freshly cut grass and early morning dew under his skirts... :!:

Sure I remember you and it was in 04. It would be hard to forget the graphics on your car. You were on my left and on the right side of me at the show was a friend of yours? driving a black custom Cad and you recieved a pick although I don't remember for what

WOW!! Great memory. My buddy just sold that car. And I think that was the year I recieved a Rep/safety pick. I think that was the year? The year before I was given a PPG Best Use of Color pick. As a painter that meant alot.

Well my wife and a few others would disagree about my memory being great. My wife says it works overtime on car stuff but not on other things. But I can tell you I put 4,000 mi on the car that trip out there and ended up going to PEI and Nova Scotia before I came home.
Me,I had a guy from one of the other sites drop me a PM with the site address.Looks like a great site.Dave

As I recall....Dave drinks Gin.....Probably can't notice the difference
I had no clue as to the RRT until meeting up with all you guys at sumners for the forced march and the bonneville trip with hooley. I got a face to face intro with the whole lot of you guys and felt very comfortable with your views right off, guys like rivers gave me a ride to salt lake etc... glad to be here as hooley would say ...
I was lurking on the hamb &reading a thread about those who no longer posted & Denise said someone was onRRT & gave the address. THANKS HONEY!!!!!

Hmmm, interesting thread. I often think that the old codgers should occaisionally update the newbies with a bit of info on who they are and where they are coming from.
I'm a life long car nut and can't see that changing any time in the future. I think I was also one of the originals on Corey's old board, but it was that long ago I can't remember, although the young lass who lives here with me assures me it was so. But that's a whole other story.
So for the newbies, I do cars too, but live about as far south as any one can live on this planet provided you don't count the Tasmanians, we don't so I guess it's OK if you don't or if yu do you gotta count em all twice. OOPS! Local joke, the other Aussies will understand, maybe even explain it.
I used to be here a lot, but lately I've been a bit busy where I work, we build cars, but in order to avoid WW3 I'll leave it at that.
I've also had the good fortune to meet many RRTers on my previously regular. lately not regular enough, visits to the US of A. And it's also been my pleasure to host a few or their relatives, when they've been lucky enough to come downunder. I even have the old license plates from some of the member's cars screwed to my garage walls plus a few other cherished goodies traded or donated because that's what we do. But best of all I have some great memories of the freindships and other shenanigans that have gone on here over the years. And if I do forget, I only have to look in the direction of that that 'young lady' who lives here to be reminded that this place is all about great people having a good time helping each other live the good life, regardless of wealth, sex, religion or politics because the cars are the glue that bind us together.
Good to see that even after all these years that still holds true.
Oh yeah, I still ahve nightmares thanks to Enjenjo mowing his grass nekkid and the thought of Choco and Enjenjo together in the same place is just not something anyone wants to contemplate.
OK, enogh for now, even tho I don't spend enough time here, right now I gotta go out to the shed an polish my glass (one day I may even install it in the car)   .
still have that young babe with you huh

I think I found my way here after ozrodders went down one time, and a member of ozrodders emailed me the link, gee Carps you didn't look 73 last time i saw you, say hello to Dolly for me. I too come from Australia on the central coast of n.s.w or new south wales, I still drop by here quite often to read through old and new posts and find this site to be a wealth of information, I don't post a lot here but i enjoy reading though all the old and new posts and particually anything to do with paint and prep and general body mods, im a floorsander polisher by trade, but that doesn't stop me from having a go at panal and paint or anything else on my car that needs doing and when i need to fix something then its usually places like this that i come to learn, this site has always been very informative with lots of tips and ideas.
cheers barnsey
I was refered by btrc, not able to sign on often, but seem to learn something every time I do DRJ
Actually i forget how i found the site , but it remains one of my favorites ... being an untravelled aussie i have learnt more of the US culture and way of life from this forum than any other means .
The thread Denise posted on her trip simply was the best.
I began playing with cars in 1969 and as i write this have a stable of 4 plus a Woody Caravan (trailer) and a couple of restored tractors.
We aussies are truly enbebted to this forum for giving us a home when we were down n out , a gesture we will not forget.
ozrodders.com was suffering a mystery illness yesterday and the aussie section here immediately came to life.
In the ozrodders forum i'm known by my name ( Mike) so if you drop by thats me !

Choco was right...you have too much free time on your hands...Go to your room. No models, no car mags, no internet, and no SRV. :)S(
Is the little hussy comin' stateside with ya'... :?:
Her brother is gettin' pretty big, and she hasn't seen him in about 8 or 9 years now... :D
Quote from: "Rayvyn"Go to your room. And no SRV.
Hey Carpsipoo, look what momma picked up fer me for the holidays. It's about 3' x 4', and hand drawn. Got it all framed and hung. Looks good in the office; I might build a shrine... );b( :D
I found this place a little while back when I checked in on the SRS board (it's dead now, slow) and caught a post of someone asking were everyone was. Someone replied and said they had mostly come over here, so here I came too. There's way more going on here, I just don't have much to talk about usualy unless there's something going on about metal shaping and cutting stuff up. But I lurk every couple nights or so just to see what's up new. Great site. Mark.
I found the forum last week when OzRodders got ill and was very pleasantly surprised by the site. I will definitely be visiting regularly.
I've been around cars for as long as I can recall, my first car having been a 37 DeLuxe Fordoor which originally belonged to the Singer Sewing Machine Company and was in the company colours. Pity it didn't run as good as their product, the steering box fell off the chassis within a mile of the used car dealership I bought it from  made for an interesting moment or two.
There followed many years of buy/modify/sell (usually at a large loss) of more cars than I can remember, a few years back I saw the light and cut back to two a year, and now am managing on one every two years. (Maybe there's a need for Rodaholics Anonymous there!) I'm reliably informed that my current project (26 Chrysler Touring) is my last. If that's the case it will need to be my best. 8)
My wife and I are in the process of buying a house in a town close to where we now live. The 'Tree Change' lifestyle hasn't worked out to be as enjoyable as we had hoped. Keeping up with all the chores necessary for the wellbeing of a small herd of Alpacas, as well as working shift work to pay for the lifestyle, is starting to take its toll.
Currently I work at a plant which manufactures wiring harnesses for trucks, cars, boats, aircraft, medical applications and industrial customers.
I enjoy playing golf when I get time to get to a golf course - not often nowadays.
Happy New Year to all on both sides of the planet.
I followed a link to this site. I am building an English Wheel and ended up here. Name's Dave and I have been building for many years. I am now building a 1941 Chev. P/U. I will post some pictures as I make progress.

I was on the corvette forum and someone posted info about a new search engine that was really cool. I put in a search for hot rod and this site was amongst the group. I had seen the others but this one was new to me so I checked it out..I imeadiatly recognized Donsrods and his most FAMOUS T build, and knew I must join this site ASAP!!! (Plus you have better smilies than the other sites! )

I found the link on the HAMB also. I have lurked here off and on for a while. In fact, I thought that I had registered a long time ago but when I tried to post I couldn't. So I registered again. or maybe for the first time. Who knows at my age.

Yes, I had included the web site in my original posts but the mods must have removed it. Im sure they had a good reason so I wont post it again.
After reading this thread, I've found another reason I like this site, all the members from "down under". The only place in the world I have any desire to visit (outside the good ol USA that is) is Australia and New Zealand! Ive gotta get down there before Im too old to enjoy it!! Hopefully I can learn some about your cultures on this site, as you have ours! );b(
you can blame oz rodders for me being here..it crashed last week...this forum has some familiar faces .......
me i have a coupla compacts( 63 fairlanes 4 drs) a recently aquired 46 vauxhall which will get some attention soon
i will find my way around the site and post some dribble at times

When you decide to visit let us know ....... we are well known for our hospitality ...... I'm sure we can arrange some fun times !!
I spent some time in Australia in 1969. and I'd like to go back. It's also the only place outside of the USA that I could get my wife to go.
One other thing about this site. Have you noticed how most of the member's ages fall into the late 50s to early 60s? Interesting.

Dont get up here to often lately, sorry.
I found this site after the ambulance chashers closed the HRI down, can't remember who gave me the link so you can't blame anyone - tho' it probably was Carps!!! I think I gave you all a bit of a Graeme story at that time, but been interested in Rods all my life, haveing started 5 or 6 or something through my time. Spent 20 years in the Australian Air Force which curtailed my Rod interests, 2 wives have also helped here as well  ,although I did get in a bit of Speedway Racing, driving our equivelant to your IMCO Nationals.
Presently trying to get a '27 Ford roadster on the road, but Ozrodders.com takes up too much of my time. Never been to the States, but plan on it one day, I really want to see one of your Nats and a bit of your dry lakes action as well.
Some advice for anyone thinking of taking TJ's Dad up on his offer, he makes a really mean home brew scotch, which although tastes like silk but kicks like a horse. The old fella has fallen by hard times just lately and was going to sell the still, but has just removed the item from sale, so it looks as if the rocket fuel is still being produced - you have been warned!!
Ohhhhh my ..... i do apologise ... we had Grazza removed and relocated to a nueclear waste dump but it appears he's resurfaced .
His ramblings are like the waste from the said horse he mentioned.
We promise to do everything in our power to keep him from returning , but if he does pop up every now n then just ignore him ! We do !!!
Oooooooh my and this from one of my "Friends". Poor old TJ's Dad hasn't been the same since his "turn" and the Doctors taking him off red meat (& booze!)
I love you brother (in a blokie sort of way  )
