Post by: purplepickup on October 12, 2006, 08:53:11 PM
Just for you guys in the uncomfortably hot states I thought I'd post a picture of the beautiful fall colors in my backyard.  Actually the colors haven't peaked yet....and if they had you wouldn't be able to see them....
.
.

.
.
. because of the freakin' snow!!!

And this pic was in the morning.  We've got lots more now.

It's supposed to be around the mid 80's all weekend for the NSRA show
here.
Then Jack will have to drive back to Michigan.
Will snow tires fit on Hawt Rawds...?
And our trees are turning also. The palm trees go from dark green to light green in the fall...

You guys have SNOW ALREADY. Jeez, it's not even the middle of October yet.
Whats with that????

We are getting somewhat cooler weather too, tomorrow is only supposed to go to 85. It will be nice not to be sweltering in the shop for the next few months.

Thanks for the pictures of the snow. Now I remember why I left Pennsylvania. :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P

I do not like winter.  I am driving the new roadster to cruise night tonight.  I think it is going to be in the 70's here today.

Since you are not going to be doing anything on account of the snow, how about checking your PM's.

It was 50 degrees this morning in Vicksburg, MS supposed to get down to 40 in the morning. Now we do have snow here, this picture was from 1997 when we got 8-10 inches of the white stuff. That was a 50 year record breaker.

If we can't get to work we don't get paid.  That's about it.

This was only about 5 or 6 inches.  We get a lot more than that in the winter without affecting our lives too much.  The bummer about this is that it's about a month or two earlier than normal  :|

The snow almost all melted today.  The weather forcast for later this weekend is sunny and temps in the 60's:D

Ok, just so's ya'll don't think we are complete idiots to live here, here's a pic of the same tree without the snow that I just took while I was out mowing the lawn.  This is more typical of October. The weather changes keep things interesting. :D

Nice yard art.

Took the roadster to a show yesterday.  Temperature dropped all day.  Drove home in the cold and rain.  Still better than a day of working.  Leaving soon for another show today.  I will meet Hooley and the 974 at Miami, OK.  It is in the low 30's with heavy frost now.  If you see me on the road all bundled up, I will still be smiling.

Hey Sam.   Nice to see you show up.  You will notice that some of the people we spent time with at Bonneville, are on this site.

Post a couple of pictures of your rides or projects when you get a chance.

Hi there Sam.  It's good to hear from you. :D   I really enjoyed meeting you this year in Utah.  I've got to lay the blame on you, Jim, and Ken for corrupting me and forcing me to play the slots in the casinos in Wendover.  I'm not complaining much tho....since I won. 8)

I've been following some of your adventures on the HAMB.  The Vicky is looking good

Funny how things work out in Autumn in Michigan.....just when the leaves fall off the trees it's cool enough to rake them without sweating your behind off!   As I raked part of the yard today I thought it was neat that I could get all this exercise for free when all those people pay big bucks at a health club for a workout. There's all kinda advantages to living here :!:

If I would've know how eager you were to rake leaves I would've let you come and do mine. I live back off the road about 500' and the house is surrounded by woods.

You've got to be kidding, I just looked out the window and we have no signs of snow at all. In fact I don't think we ever had snow and even more so I've never seen snow. I thought snow was something you only ever saw on xmas cards and in the movies
Just had another look out the window and nothing, just blue sky and another 80 degree day
This weather is hard to deal with do I drive the bucket today or the roadster? Hang on I just remembered I drove the roadster yesterday ...oh... the bucket the day before .....decisions decisions
Looking at that photo even makes a rainy day look good down here. :)
