Title: Hydro Boost for brakes
Post by: BFS57 on September 21, 2006, 08:35:31 AM
Hello;
Have you all seen the hydro boost for brakes that eliminates the vacuum booster and runs from your power steering pump? Quite a nifty thing but I saw it on the Classic Performance web site and the price was right up there!
Well, here's the story. I work for a company that has delivery service and as I kind of know more that anyone else about cars, I always have the job of keeping our vans in operating condition (Chevy Vans). Well one morning while I was checking vital signs in one of our vans, I discovered something astounding! The Hydro Boost that CPP offers is in deed the same system in our Chevy Vans! Exactly! This system goes for around $700 on CPP's site!
So, If anyone is interested in this system we now know where it comes from and it's available without much work from your favorite junk yard!
Hope my little bit of info has been helpful!

Bruce

You can also find it on most GM diesel cars, some Lincolns, and Mercurys

I think they are used on Astro vans though a purchase from the company (I'm told) offers varied pressures. .........Frank
