Title: Detailing new tires??
Post by: Mac on August 16, 2006, 11:45:28 PM
I just got some new BFG's and I'd like to clean up the sidewalls before mounting them. They have mold flashing in places.

What's the best way to do this?

Razor, die grinder, dremel, DA, torch?

Thanks for all inputs. Mac

I use a die grinder and ScotchBrite pads.

My friend Lil' Mike (the midget from Monster Garage) told me that before a car rolls out of their shop (Steve Cook Creations) they grind EVERYTHING off both sides of the tires. He said "If the tire company ain't gonna sponsor us, we ain't advertising for 'em". Wiser words were never spoken.
