Title: Ford flywheel balance
Post by: 48ford on October 08, 2005, 09:50:35 PM
I got triped up on the 28oz.V50 oz. balance on a ford,small block.I put a 78 351W and used a 302 flywheel off a 89.
The question is can you change the weight or do I need to just buy the correct wheel?
The original flywheel for the 351 is to big to fit into the bellhousing that came with the 5 speed.and #3 son turned the bigger bellhousing into scrap when he gernaded the original clutch and 4 speed.behind the 351.
can any body help us?
Thanks Russ&Irene

If you can find a flywheel from a 79 on back 302 it should work, the balance on the 302 was changed from 28 to 50 oz in 80 or 81.  Jeff
