Title: 1961 Galaxie brakes
Post by: ONE37TUDOR on June 26, 2005, 12:14:22 AM
I would like to loose the drum brakes on my 61 Starliner. I have heard that some models of Granada disk brakes will fit on the front? Anyone performed this type of swap on a 60's Galaxie?
For the rear I plan to try to adapt Explorer units.

Thanks,
Scott...

77-79 thunderbird, cougar and LTD II spindles will bolt on,the outer tie rod ends from the donor will have to be used and the location for the hose will have to be changed to the front of the suspension.   I am currently getting all the parts to do the swap on my 65 custom 500 and I heard the spindles will bolt on back to 57,I got the whole system including the brake lines so I have patterns but you will have to get a booster that fits your year.   Jeff
