Title: ANZAC Day Show (Sydney, Aus)
Post by: hotrodmatt on April 25, 2005, 03:24:46 AM
The Early Ford Street Rod Club did it's annual show today at the New Victoria Tavern in Wetherill Park, west of Sydney.

They had a great turn up; rods, beers and two-up!

Here a few of the 150 pics I took.

And Mick made his way all the way from Lithgow. We can be quite sure it drove and didn't come on a trailer...

When I took the pick of the red PU and you are in the background he was about 10 metres away from you! You mean you couldn't see the hairstyle?
LOL

I asked Boris to point me out to you, or vis versa, but we never caught up, sorry.

I haven't been to a Sydney event for years; as a result, I bumped into heaps of people that I hadn't seen in yonks!  I had a good time, then went on to vist some friends; getting back here around midnight or so.

It was an amazing turn-up.  This Desoto really caught my eye; it bad a late Chrysler TPI engine.  Somebody said the Hemi from it was the one in the black Model A highboy at the event.

Oh the sadness of moving from our last place at Hinchinbrook. Glen Jenkins and the DeSoto lived behind us. That green beast was always out the front! A few of my friends thought it was mine it was there so often!

The new engine looks great in your ride Pope! You were showing Boris when we turned up...

Yeah Mick! Where the hell were you. Popey just came straight up to me and said "Hi Boris". Of course I just gave him my usual glazed over look and he could probably hear the wheels clunking as I thought "Uh-Oh... I should probably know this bloke!" :)

Sad thing is I've seen his pickup so many times it's not funny.

Anyways, here's a couple of pics I took...

Willys was kinda interesting.

Car park filled up quick and people ended up parking over the road. Apparently they normally have the use of the car park next door but due to those wankers that call themselves the insurance industry, they couldn't get access this year.

Plymouth Sedan had some 'Vintage Car Club' sticker on the window. I can hear it now... "No worries Sir, I won't change a thing, keep her just as she is..." LOL

Here's another view of that Desoto. Sure would be better with that Hemi back in it. As neat as that engine is, it sure gets lost in that massive engine bay.

Steve chose orange this week

Popey's 313 screamer. Take a 283 and stuff in a 327 crank, put on some finely finned finishing touches and you've got a cool looking donk! :)

This Charger showed up just as I was leaving. I've seen it a show before and it's got a full suede interior, on the floor as well. Neat car.

...and just as I was getting in my car I saw Charlie Falzon go past. Glad I didn't miss this chance. Shot of the day I reckon. :)

Thats the guy I was asking if he knew you Boris and if he could point you out to me, he said he hadnt seen you, he was with 2 women.
I met him at the Bathurst swap meet recently, he knew my 32 and some of the previous owners.

I was in the middle of the road with a camera stuck to my head. He probably didn't realise it was me.

Oh well... next time mate. I'll definitely be at Bobbin Head, so if you come down for that or the Meguiar's show the week before, I'll be around.
