" little " being the operative word  i reckon driving that would be like me trying on an old pair of jeans, don't think it'd fit me.
very cute tho'
they must of been running on the Model A chassis I picked up last weekend, its about that size.
cyber
oh please take it off and turn into a closed cab pu.
Pardon my lack of memory. Back in the late 70's or eraly 80's, I saw one of these at a NSRA event. I think it is an English Austin but my memory is so poor about this that I may all wrong. I suppose if I took the next 2 weeks and looked through photos I might find it. I don't remember alot about it except it had the same wheels.
It's an American Austin, built in Butler Pa. I owned one for a short time in 1966, mine had a V8 60 in it, not stock. I always wanted to have one with a 454 in it.

Its an Austin Bantam.
Like the Fiat Topolino, we hardly recognise them in original form any more. They were often cut-down for drag cars.
I imagine several of the regulars here know I like it!!

This one belongs to a friends father-in-law it has a 454.
Picture yourself going 80 MPH down the interstate with a 75" wheelbase - pretty scary I think. That's why I never finished my '38 American Bantam Sedan Delivery and sold it to get my deuce roadster.
i like it!!!!!!!!!!!
i'd rod it :00
i doubt that i'd fit in it tho.
later jim

Your name was the first thing entered my mind on opening the post and seeing the picture.
I reckon with the right credentials up front (that means engine!) you could get that thing to do wicked wheelstands!

13B Turbo    that thing would be so much fun
You're a sick puppy Spoolin. I agree with you.Or a 20B
Well if the Wiggles ever decide to get rid of their big red car and build a Rod I reckon that would be it! It is sort of cute in a Nash Metropolitan sort of way. The Rotary would be the go except for that exhaust note! Lots of compact Turbo inline engines around now too! A 454 in one? Now that is a sick puppy!
I don't know how many of you have seen the website for American Bantams but it's pretty cool and it tells a lot about the cars. http://www.americanbantam.com/
Also many of the fuel altereds are American Bantam roadster bodies. I'm sure most know about this site but if you don't it is worth checking out. http://www.mysterion.net/AAFA/ Some of the cars on that page are Bantams....Pure Hell, Pure Heaven, Rat Trap. Altereds have always been my favorite drag cars.
One of our group from up in the north east is planing something similar from a Model A 4 door sedan. I'm looking foreward to seeing it because using the back doors only it wills have suicide doors. GPster

Hey, if some is good, then more is better, and too much is almost enough
With a drop here and a chop there and some wheels it starts to look better! Still have visons of The Wiggles in it though!

Stretch the wb, lose the fenders
This one shows up at local shows now and again. This was in 02.
I took the pic of this Bantam Roadster in St Ignace. They always make me think of a clown car too. :D
