I just checked the rear drums on my car and they have the following numbers and letters; "B142 KH 6 87418". They are 10" with shoes that are either 1.75" or 2" wide. Anybody know of a website or a way of deciphering the above information. I need to purchase some new ones and have no idea what they are off.
Sounds like Maverick, or Granada. Are the drums finned or smooth? What is the diameter of the drum pilot on the axle?
There are no fins on the rear drums and when you ask "what is the the diameter of the drum pilot on the axle" that is 2".
Ok, it sounds like 69 or 70 Mustang.

did 'nt many of those have the double D shape in the end of the axle ?

Yes, but it's not a fool proof indicator. There are axles that will fit that don't have the back to back D shape in the ends.
