Title: Jaguar front crossmember for a 1949-1954 Chevy?
Post by: 50chevydan on December 15, 2004, 09:04:38 PM
I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with any front crossmembers other than stock on a 49-54 Chevy. I am probably using the stock one but I figured that I would keep my options open and learn a few things in the process.
                                                                  Thanks,
                                                                   Dan

It shouldn't be a big deal to adapt a Jag crossmember, you can weld mounts to the Chevy frame to pick up the stock Jag mounts. You might need another crossmember of some type in the front of the chevy frame to stiffen it up a bit.

Hi Gang,

If memory serves me right, the entire front suspension from and early Corvette would ber a bolt in for these model Chevrolets.  The downside would be finding one, and the price might be pretty high.
