Title: Belt for a small motor
Post by: jaybee on February 26, 2022, 11:10:10 AM
Does anyone know where I can go to get a belt for a small motor by length? I'm trying to run something off a sewing machine motor, but the belt it came from isn't long enough. The motor has a v pulley, but the top and bottom look more like a gear belt.

Do you mean a cog tooth belt or just a pulley with cogs at the bottom?

The one I have looks just like the tan one in the pic at the link. It has a V profile and runs on a V shaped pulley with no teeth.  https://www.sdp-si.com/products/img/belts/belts_bg.jpg

McMaster Carr. They have an extensive listing of belts in about any size you can imagine. They also have pulleys for those same belts. Another place to check is Surplus Center.

Thanks, Frank. Sorry it took so long to get back. Work never ends right now.
