Hello;
A bit ago I decided to update my 57 Bel Air with a complete Disc brake system. I looked around and went with a complete kit (ss lines and all) from Pirate Jack.
The car now has front and rear disc which are sloted and drilled and I now have a Willwood master (1" Bore) and a chrome 8" booster.
Everything is working pretty good with the exception of the rear brakes which are of the Caddy Sevelle style with the built in emergency brake! Now looking at my rear rotors, (drivers side) I see that the disc pads seem to come in full contact with the rotors per the wear pattern, but the Passengers side tells me something different. The pads seem to only be contacting the disc at about 2/3 on the rotors on that side.
I know that these calipers are a PIA to adjust, which I have looked at a bunch but cant do right now due to a lack of equipment (Don't ask, I got rid of mine) so now I cant tell why this is happening so Im asking all you folks to "throw out" some suggestions my way so I can better understand my problem here.
Thanks,
Bruce
We had a thread about adjusting these in the last few years. I just scrolled back and didn't find it. One of the brake experts will surely be along soon.
