I was late making reservations at the host hotel (Marriott West Des Moines) last year and wound up with a rate of $159.00 instead of the $92.00 Goodguys rate.  I called the Marriott this past Saturday and due to cancellations I was able to get the GG rate for Thursday and Friday nights.  2 out 3 at the lower rate ain't bad.  Plus the nice lady at the hotel reservation desk kept them on my original confirmation number.  So if you didn't get into the host hotel or are paying a higher rate you may want to call as we get closer to the event.

Sorry, I did not make it. I was there Friday, but a family issue came up and had to return home on Saturday.
