From SE KS... Been a car guy for lots a years. Just last friday, I traded my 55 Chevy Belair for a 32 Ford Roadster. Thought perhaps I could find some help on questions and things that Id like to change on it. Well I,m starting off badly,as I dont know how to make my pic small enough to post.
WELCOME ABOARD! 8)
Welcome to the RRT You have to be a member for a week I think, and have a minimum number of posts to post pictures, This is to minimize the spam. In the meantime, if you email the pictures to me, I can post them
I have bumped into you before, somewhere on the I-Net. Welcome.
Welcome. There is a lot of knowledge here. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.
Tom
Welcome, looking forward to seeing pics of your '32.
This is a friendly group here. I've been here a number of years and no one has chased me away yet. I personally don't care what you look like. Just tell us more about the car so you'll get enough posts to send us a picture. GPster
Welcome to the group, fairly new member myself. bur I can tell you the info is good and the atmosphere friendly

Welcome to the RRT. I am not far away from you. If we have not met personnally, I am looking forward to meeting you. I have built and owned 3, 32 roadsters. I would be glad to help anyway I can.
I run the old truck a few times every year at MOKAN. I am not very good but I have fun.
John
Appreciate the welcome. I cant even post an avatar. Im sure all my pics are too large. I sent the Administrator a bunch of pics, so that may show up. Yes I used to frquent Mokandragway Friday Nights for Test N Tune. Its 1 3/4 hr haul from my house ,.. I ran my 55 there in 2003 at the club challange . Than built the 62 ChevyII and ran it quite abit. The 62 got featured on the Header for the Dragway after I had it finished and painted. Have it on Hamb and Cragis list Free Revs, etc, to sell. Gonna need some cash to make the changes to the 32 that I want. I look forward to cruising to the Nats next time around, if I have it set up like I want. Thx again..All..
Thanks to the administrator for that :)

I haven't been there in a long time either. I went over and checked and am still registered. Sent you a pm there for id
Cool, I,ll go look Thx.
Well the trunk opens electrically. Has a mtr ,of course the battery is in there. Its all be hind removable covers. If the battery went dead, I would be in trouble. So 1st thing I,m doing is fabbing a battery terminal remotely under the back of the car. Cant believe the builders didnt add this when the 32 was being built.

Yes,I had an extra pair of those in my cuboard. Gonna use a piece of alum "L" bracket and using the 2 exsisiting mounting bolts for the end of the fuel tank to mount the bracket under neath. Thank you for responding.
Think I dont like my Avatar. Maybe if it wasnt moving, but is a distraction :)

Would it be wise to fasten full amperage 12 volt connection fasteners to a fuel tank mount? GPster

These are completely insulated by the design, Have used them on many cars. But I dbl checked that area ,as Im gonna be putting full exhaust on the 32. Any who.. that area ,isnt available. It has a sunken area on the floor under that tank mount ,that I hadnt noticed before. But need to find a piece of metal under there near the battery ,,,Hopfully that I can use. That battery dies,I would be up the creek.
My car didn't have any way to manually open the doors from the inside. That was the first thing I fixed. My hood sides come off so I can charge at the Alt. or at the starter. I also have a hidden wire to pull to open the door from the outside of the car.

I,d be interested in hearing about your door opening fix. I know I could put my trickle charger on the starter, But would be soo much easier to have a place under the rear ,where the battery is ,to easly connect to. Its been soo cold here, havent done any thing ,but order a few parts. My Hagan gas filler lid, magnetic latch broke,so had to order a replacemet. I have a set of SS Block Huggers coming today,as Im gonna put a full exhaust on the car, also hood sides and side windows, etc.
Mine was fairly easy. I have suicide doors so the actuators are not in the door. I have gold trims guages so I used brass parts. Some plumbing fitting that I rounded and brass rod. It is just a push button mounted under the dash with linkage that pushs down on the actuator. I worried about being in an accident or a fire and not getting out. Has worked well for 50000+ miles.

Well I got the new hagen gas lid latch installed. Havent done any thing else. It was 76 yesterday, ,now its cold again and supposed to get snow
