I need a 90deg speedo cable adapter to suit a Turbo 400, must have the same thread both ends.
I am led to believe that any Chev one will do, they all have the same thread for the speedo cable.
Cheers
Andrew
there are 90 degreee adapters that are 1 - 1 and 90 degree adapters that change the ratio from 1 -1 to correct speed-O reading.
Which do you need ?
Here you go

there is at least one more junk yard option..
on some front wheel drive NON transverse eldorados and sevilles with the 325 and 325-4L transmissions.. there is a 4 inch ELL where there is a short wide bend to adapt the speedo cable to the transmission...
i use the last few i had on a friends car with headers as i was able to use two.. one to move the cable upwards then the other to aim the cable forward along the floor pan.. worked great.. but i don't have any more..
79 to 85 eldorados... 80 to 85 seville flat backs.. NON transverse front wheel drive..
probably NOT something down under.. if you put 4 of them together it would make a 10 inch round cornered square..
I am going to use it to connect a B&M lockup converter control box, and my exhaust is too close to the speedo outlet on the box, I need to turn it at 90deg to be able to fit the B&M drive controller, I have an electronic speedo so drive ratio is not important I can reprogram the speedo.

I wonder if the same part is on the Rivieras and Toros 79-85?

The junk yards in my part of the country are a little light on possible donors, so instead of numerous trips to the yards to find one or going to E-Bay for a used one of questionable quality, I opp'd for a new one.
The unit I used is listed as a "Corvette Tachometer Or Speedometer Cable Adapter, 90°, 1960-1974", got it from "http://www.ecklerscorvette.com". Not a endorsement for them, but they delivered promptly, unit looks like a quality product. They were the most economical source that I found when shipping was factored in. To be honest though, I ordered it when we were in Arizona for a visit with delivery there. Have since found Canadian Corvette suppliers that carry them for similar prices.
Maybe there are Vette specialist that you could source from.
Just another idea.
