I need to find out where the "key in the ignition chime" module is located
on a 2000 Ford pickup. I can hear the general area where the noise is coming from ( behind fuse panel) but don't see anything that looks like a chime module.
The noise is driving me nuts.

Did you look IN the fuse panel? Some vehicles have them there.
I normally just let it "ding-ding",then start feeling around till I find it.
That's exactly where it is by listening with a stethascope.
Only problem is getting into it...
It looks like a major dash dismount job.
I have a friend who works at a Ford dealer so maybe I can get some info from him.
Thanks
Pete
On our 2001 F-150 there was a procedure to turn off the chime while the key is in the ignition

I found out that is the way it is done on my 2000 also.
Now I just need to find someone that has the info.
