I put a GM "G" body front clip in this 51 Olds. The P/S return line fitting in the box doesn't have the piece that a normal flare fitting would seal against.

What kind of fitting shold the return line have at the box?

It's an Oring seal. Most auto parts stores carry a universal return line kit with those ends. Or you can salvage the fuel line from a GM TBI setup, same fitting, just uses a teflon O ring on the Power steering.
