I expected this a few years back
the aftermarket is proliferated with better big block chevy parts now, it will be fine
I saw this in the local paper and it was over on the H.A.M.B. the other day. Like I said over there there won't be an immediate shortage of big blocks, heck they stopped making the flathead Ford in the mid fifities and they are still finding usuable ones now.
I grew up not far from the Tonawanda Engine Foundry, just across the Erie Canal in North Tonawanda. Knew several guys that worked there. Just one more nail in the coffin of the Buflo area economy.

I deal with orphan engines all the time... there's so few of us and many engines are surfacing everyday mainly from the Hoarders of the world dieing off!
